Marty, I thought you knew us Yanks better than that. As far as 99% of Americans are concerned, everything that matters in the world happens within the US borders. Hell, the closest thing we have to a world news resource isn't even American, it's BBC World.
If a bomb goes off in Paris and kills 10 Americans, people here will just be glad that it wasn't them and forget about it the second it's not on YahooNews.
