Not sure if that line was bait, but Waterworld sometimes gets a mention when this topic is bandied about.
In fairness to Waterworld, though, it really wasn't that bad a movie. Certainly nowhere near the worst I've ever seen, at least not imho. Its biggest problems were with budget overruns, not with the sort of stuff that would usually cause a consumer to label it a bad movie.
Btw, anyone else remember those Nike commercials where Dennis Hopper used to play a referee? Around that time, I was playing in a mens' flag football league. The guy who ran the league was considerably older, and looked a little like Dennis Hopper did in those commercials. He also used to referee the games. We used to joke that Hopper's character was based on him.
