Proverbs 23:4
Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.
Matthew 6:19-34
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Seek first the Kingdom of God.
After Jesus cast satan away and then began His earthly ministry, He said - Matthew 4:17 - "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
The kingdom of heaven is at hand because Christ came as promised to deliver man from his ... spiritual captivity... to satan.
This captivity has put man into a certain fate of failure.
Because we absoultely CAN NOT sustain ourself apart from the Word of God.
When man left God's Word, every manner of problem engulfed him.
Look around at people - and how strange they are.
And how very strange and disturbing problems approach them and their families.
And how, despite best efforts and struggles, they still become overwhelmed and swallowed up.
And they fail eternally.
Seeking God's Kingdom is simply receiving the Christ (Who has totally broken the authority of satan) into your heart, and then holding to that as your covenant.
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.
