If you dicklickers didn't know already, Soundgarden will be playing their first show in 13 years at Lollapalooza in August. Well, technically their second show, as the band played a "secret" show in April in Seattle under the name "NUDEDRAGONS." At first I was skeptical. A good friend of mine asked if it would be worth it to see those guys at Lollapalooza. I told him not to do it based on the festival setting and wait for a true tour to come through soon, but I have also been enjoying their recent show. Cameron is in great shape, he rarely misses a beat. Cornell's voice is good. It is better than I expected, but they haven't yet played Face Pollution. They played a lot of their older pre-Badmotorfinger songs, which was cool. Thayil sounds good, too.

Lollapalooza is about four times the size of Pitchfork Fest and about four times as expensive. Soundgarden live, for the first show in 13 years, is also an unknown quantity I wouldn't want to spend a couple hundred bucks to go see. Wolf Parade, on the other hand, you just know they're gonna be freaking incredible.

Don't blame me for your bleeding vagina.

Does Kim Thayil still look like a dead ringer for Osama bin Laden? I saw him interviewed in a Tad documentary that came out a couple years ago and the resemblance was uncanny...
