Respect and Trust

I keep hearing the the two most important values of a successful marriage are respect and trust.
Today the OL and I are celebrating 23 years of respect and trust.
Maybe in a couple more years I'll trust her enough to clue her into this sordid clambake.

There's nothing wrong with introducing family members to degenerate shitholes.

True...but the analogy doesn't quite work.
I never had an incestuous relationship with my sister.

Doubled up on you and the Mrs. and looking to our 47th on 8/31. I realized a while ago that 50 was doable. Plans are: a trip to England and Ireland, or Hawaii via San Francisco. I know---why get on a plane and fly all day to get to a place with beaches, palm trees, and such? I guess just because.
Rack your 23rd anyway and keep 50 in mind.

Nice wolfie. I hope we make it that far, but we were both in our 30s (me 32 and she 36) when we got married. 50 for us would be exceeding expectations.
I'm planning a long trip to Italy, and maybe France and Greece for #25.
Thing is we have 2 kids in college as of September. :(

Define a "succesful" marriage.

One that still exists after 23 years.

Damn, Wolfie, you were married before my parents were. And I'm an old fart. Yeah, it was only a month and change difference, but still . . .
Dad didn't live long enough to make it to 50, btw.
