Vehicle shipping to North Carolina

Post by Derron »

Trying to get my sons pickup shipped to him at Camp Lejune...found about 3 different carriers who took deposits, and then said they would get the truck in a few days and none of the cocksuckers did, and most are bigger liars than LTS TRN 2, Moving Sale and some of the other jerks on here.

Anybody have an inside route, know somebody or shipped a vehicle across the fucking country before?...not wanting to drive it back there and stack miles and the fuckin road trip in July....

If your son is stationed there at Lejune, did he check to see if the military would ship it at no cost for you or him?

If he is on PCS they will pay for shipping if it is cheaper than paying his mileage and per diem to drive it himself or if his duty status does not permit him to drive it. At least that's the way it worked when I was in.

It's part of his military service, dumbfuck. Not that you have much of a clue about anything, though.

You are truly one of the worst pieces of shit to ever post on this board. Start giving up your paycheck for reparations now and then you can shut the fuck up about your racist blasts.

He would get some kind of mileage allowance if it was part of a duty station change. Other son got his moving paid for from Pendleton to Quantico..

Not part of a duty station change..he bought the pickup up here after he got back from Afghanistan....he could not find the pickup he wanted back there, and the prices were about 4 grand less on the truck here...but then you got that 3000 mile thing..

Yeah right...paying for military personnel to relocate as part of their duty assignment is complete bullshit and should be banned.

Like you said, it was not part of a duty change. He chose to buy a vehicle 3000 miles from where he was stationed. It should be paid for on his own coin which it sounds like you are trying to do. And yes, for the taxpayer to have to pay for a bad decision is useless and wasteful spending.

No fucking shit..paying for it is not the issue..just getting the fucking thing on a truck is and that is what I inquired about. Trying to get Uncle Sam to pay for it never entered the decision process :meds: :meds: :meds:

Bad decision ? Not really..all the trucks he looked at in NC had 20,000 more miles on them and were 4 grand more expensive. So he saved 4 grand on the truck and it will cost $ 1,400 to ship it, still leaving him with a net savings of
$ 2,600, and he paid cash for the truck, which I know is a concept most of you cannot grasp....you spend a year in Afghanistan and your pay is tax free, and you don't spend a lot when you are back you can do things like that.

If you have the time, drive the damn thing yourself. I assume it's not a 1 ton V-10 crew cab, so, it should get close to 20 mpg. Figure 3 bucks a gallon, well under 200 gallons and you get to hang out with your son for a little while. The 3000 miles of freeway driving will amount o just about nothing as far as wear and tear go.

If he has the leave time, he could catch a mac flight to somewhere close to you, I would think. that would save the cost of flying home.
