Now that Gen. Petraeus has been reassigned to Afghanistan, a decision was needed to find his replacement at Central Command. Gen. McChrystal was fired, in essence, because he was a loose cannon. One would think that Petraeus's replacement would be an officer with a reputation for not speaking out of line in public. But that hardly seems to be the case. Could be a good decision, but also has the potential to cause further embarrassment.
