I still don't believe it is possible for George Steinbrenner to have died from a heart attack. I always assumed he was powered by pure hate and would live forever.

Maybe George blew a gasket after Texas scooped him on the Cliff Lee deal.

Please.....George was an egocentric asshole who will not likely be missed by many people but will receive the requisite and obligatory, " He was a great owner and great man" platitudes...dude probably realized that be was going to have to pay that 1 billion for that stadium and just popped a valve instead.
He and Billy Martin are probably arguing about the place setting tonight at Satan's table. Guess George just finally figured out he could not tell the Reaper to go fuck himself and then fire him.

I'm kinda bummed that he didn't hang on till next year so he'd have to pay an assload in death taxes.
Rot in hell, George.

couple reasons, jack.
first off, he kind of got the whole ridiculous salary war thing going.
next, he was a meddlesome POS who changed managers like underwear.
then, there was whatever the fukk it was he did a while back that got him shitcanned from baseball for a spell. of course this banning resulted in the yanks having their best run since the 50s.

...twice. The first time was a 14 count indictment for illegal contributions to Nixon's campaign and obstruction of justice. The second time he hired some degenerate gambler to dig dirt on Dave Winfield after Winfield sued him because George tried to jew him out of $300,000.
The guy was a raging cock knob.

All fine reasons to hate the man. I have to admit I am still waiting for a couple of the more "tardish" responses. I doubt I will be disappointed.

Never gave George Costanza the respect he deserved.

He made a lot of African Americans millionaires.
lol
ummm ... what??
Yeah, as if those African American players wouldn't have become millionaires without ol' George.
What a horseshit take by El Rushtard.

Context, Jsc.
Far be it for me to defend El Rushbo, but I actually heard the comments on his show yesterday. The "cracker" crack was tongue-in-cheek. Limbaugh segued to the Boss's passing after a long-winded rant decrying New Black Panther Party thug King Samir Shabazz's and his comments expressing a love for "fighting me some crackers. Straight up. I love fighting peckerwoods. And (bleep) woods, too. You gotta have the heart to step to these bastards, man!"
Simply breath-taking that Limbaugh's hyperbole escaped the Times. [/sarcasm] Just another example of the intellectual dishonesty we've come to expect from the usual sources. Nothing to see here...

Great take, but I was in NY today and picked up a copy of the Daily News. 36 solid pages of Steinbrenner coverage. Everyone from Bud to average whackjobs at the memorial at New Yankee Stadium, it was all platitudes. Well, except for the guy Steinbrenner bribed for dirt on Winfield. That's it.

What did you expect ???
Dude may have been a number one asshole cheating businessman and all, but he did bring billions of dollars to that city, and for that the minions will prop him..surprised they don't plan to mummify his ass and have him standing out on the sidewalk at the front entrance to Yankee stadium.
