FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — A Fort Collins woman accused of slitting her boyfriend's dog's throat after it killed her poodle is due in court.
Thirty-one-year-old Nicole Anderson is scheduled for a bond hearing at 1:30 p.m. Friday. She is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, a felony.
Police say Anderson slit the throat of the shepherd/Labrador mix June 21. They say she called her ex-husband to help and that he first tried to choke the dog and then break its neck.
An arrest affidavit says Anderson talked to people about killing the dog after her poodle was killed, but didn't seek help from animal control.
Authorities say two dead dogs were found in the Dumpsters outside Anderson's home.
