Who were they?

Members of the band Mick Jagger once called the greatest rock & roll band to come from America.

Not sure I'd concur with Mick, but no doubt they were once a great band, and still are damn good.

I've played 'em on my show before, quite a few times. Did shows last weekend. You never come around anymore. Won't be doing shows this weekend or next, though. This whole gettin' a life thing is cuttin' into my radio gigs. Goin' to see Anders Osborne in B'more tomorrow night, and in Falls Church with Tab Benoit Sat night. Saw him in Annapolis Tue night. Hopefully will do a show or two sometime soon.

Yes, because “Hayward” is often confused with “Blackmore”. Die a slow painful death from ass cancer, you pitiful bitch.

Bitter? No, bitch-slapping you for your repeated stupidity is just a form of cheap entertainment. Let me know if I need to include smiley faces so that you’ll know how much fun I’m having.

As I mentioned, I saw Anders Osborne 3 times this week. The Ram's Head show in Annapolis Tuesday night was good; he played fairly straightforward versions of a good selection of his tunes. Ended with a killer version of Neil Young's Ohio. But the show at the 8 x 10 Club in B'more Fri nite was off the hook! The Honey Island Swamp Band, a fairly new group out of NOLA, opened, but I missed them. They were followed by B'more local musician Cris Jacobs, who was outstanding; will be checking out more of his stuff. Then it was Anders, who sings & plays guitar, and just has a bassist (Carl Dufresne) & drummer (Eric Bolivar) performing with him. Both are top-drawer musicians - you don't play with Anders unless you are one. He stretched out on his jams in this show, playing longer versions of fewer songs. But the highlight of the show was when he paid tribute to Richie Hayward by bringing out Cris Jacobs & members of the HISB to do an unbelievable version of Little Feat's Dixie Chicken. Brought the fucking house down. Last night Anders opened for Tab Benoit at the State Theater in Falls Church, VA. He did Ohio again for his encore, and as usual rocked the joint to its foundation. Tab did great show too. Got backstage both nights this weekend.

I know few of you heard of Anders Osborne, but believe me, if you see him live, you'll never forget him. Raw, rough, and an extremely talented & passionate musician & songwriter. If you ever see that he's coming to perform near you, do yourself a huge favor and go see him. You'll thank me later, guaranteed.
