Get a Brita pitcher type water filter. With a new filter.

Take a bottle of cheapazz swill vodka. Pour it through the filter. Pour it through again. A third time if you're feelin groovy.

Sounded like horseshit when I first heard it (just like you're thinking now), but I'll be damned -- it works.

Make no mistake, it doesn't suddenly become Grey Goose, but it definitely improves it. You remove some fusels and phenolics and some of the other undesirables from the swill (which is kind of the difference between cheap vodka and good vodka).
