Transcendental Meditation

I've been under some stress. The short details are that my wife lost her job and then got it back but was cut on her hours. I haven't lost my job but have had my hours cut by 25%. There is a chance I could get laid off completely. We cut our family spending budget but still fell two months behind on our mortgage. My wife had some stress health issues and still isn't 100%. And I've had some sleepless nights over the past month with all of these things coming at me. That's not to mention having a teen and also a near teen children. Just the normal day to day stress we all have.

So a friend of mine has been pursuading me to try meditation and he swears by it. He spent about 30 minutes one night giving me a lesson on it. There is a lot more to it than just what he told me but I think I know the basic idea. Twice a day for 20 minutes to clear the mind and gain strength and focus. He said a specialist really should give a person their correct mantra but said OHM is one that works for about anybody. I gave it a try yesterday morning and evening and really didn't feel like anything was happening or if maybe I was not doing it right. It's hard for me to concentrate. But that is the hurdle he says I have to overcome.

Has anyone here had any meditation experience or is anyone currently participating?

I have a miserable life and wish I were dead!

Alcohol works better, Dan. Oh, and don't forget to pop the missus in the mouth when she asks any impertinent questions. It helps her stay focused.

Perhaps it is time to look for another job. New job would mean more money, but maybe more importantly, a new start. Something that truly motivates you, something that you would enjoy.

Only you can answer such questions, and TM can help produce a clarity of mind. Let us know how it comes along.
You talk to him as if he’s a real person. What is wrong with you?

Dan, you don't need meditation, you need shock therapy and thorazine. Maybe the FBI agent that isn't currently slapping his balls on your wife's sagging belly fat will give you a mercy tazering.

I get his bird, dudes. That thing is hella SEXY.

So did your wife get the scooter she wanted Dan? Please tell me your not making payments on a scooter.

Ive heard meditation is basically praying for atheists. So if your a Christian you can do both.

Perhaps you can meditate for a good credit counselor.

We got the scooter and we are making $145 a month payments. It's not that helpful to our situation but it's a battle I knew I could not win with my wife. She was wanting a scooter for a long time. What has hurt us is the payments on my daughters braces that we started just a few months ago. But that is water over the bridge now. I'm going to keep working at the meditation and give it a fair shot to work.

Started this a few months ago.

Downloaded some cool stuff from YouTube. I've recently been concentrating on breathing while listening to this on headphones.

You should not need a 30 minute lesson on how to meditate.

As soon as Dan's eyes close for meditation, mvscal keeps running up and tweezering out his ballsak hairs.

Dan's having a hard time relaxing.

Have you done meditation? What was your experience? I don't know if I needed 30 minutes it was my friend explaning about it to me because I never knew anything about it previously. And he's been involved for a long time and wanted to share his tips and information with me.

S_M,

The twitter update is unreadable. It also has nothing to do with this thread.

But thanks for sharing, buddy.
