I was surprised at how good the Patriot's D looked, considering they have a bunch of nobodies up front.
The offense might be great again... if the key players are able to stay healthy. It just seems like they've been snakebitten the last 2 years on this side of the ball.
Re: Sammy Morris -- when healthy, he's been their best RB for quite a while now.

Re: Falcons/Pats
My opinion on the Patriots hasn't changed after last night.
They are not a playoff team.
Their line has problems, and they are too stupid to do anything about their shitty running game. When they won Super Bowls, they had a solid running game that could be counted on. Now, they have a bunch of aging stiffs and some loser named Maroney who gets off maybe 3-4 good 12 yard runs a year. Big deal. And we all know that their defense is not very good. Looking functional on offense with fresh legs in the first quarter against Atlanta in preseason means nothing. The Falcons are pussies on defense and they are a soft team, so this is the type of team that the Patriots would probably beat 28-3 in the regular season anyway.
My opinion on the Falcons hasn't changed either. Probably a last place team. Too soft on defense and everyone has the film on Matt Ryan. He is mediocre.

Re: Falcons/Pats
I am indifferent to ATL and NE, Toddowen. Neither are interesting at all to me. NE was interesting in 2007 when they rolled to 16-0 and I was telling everyone that they were overrated and weren't going to win the SB, but since then they haven't had any entertainment value.
But as far as what they will do in the reg. season, I am just making a little early speculation there. I am sort of watching games, moving some things around, studying up, listening to Mike and MIke, Cowherd, what have you, anything I can to get a little edge and feel for what to go with in my fearless forecasts. What I said about these two teams in my earlier post should give you an indication as to where I have them finishing, but I haven't maed a final decision yet.
