I would love to see that show. I just looked up their 2 nights in LA and the tix are around $300 average. I noticed you could purchase a parking ticket for $50. (Staples Center must really be proud of themselves.) WOW. My son already has tickets for that first night.

Don't forget Ticketbastard's piece of the pie. Paying $20 to see a seating chart on the internet and run a credit card payment is an unsavory business transaction for the consumer.

Doyle Bramhall Jr, I believe, was his last lead guitarist on his last US tour. His DVD concert in Portland, OR was one of the best I've seen as far as recorded concerts go, so IMO its worth it.

Maybe you're right, Buttsy, but Waters doesn't do half ass on his shows. He'll probably fix this in some form or way that is less revealing.

Does anyone know who is playing the part of Gilmour on this tour?

Saw Billy Idol on Thurs at the local Indian Casino. Great show. Small venue. Steve Stevens rocked the house. Paid $75 a piece for the tickets which was totally worth it even before I walked from the place with $250 more than I walked in with.

Good times.

At the local casino, no less, where dinosaur acts go after they've died.

The upside of this post -- many of my reservations I have while contemplating going to see Queensryche at the state fair have been alleviated.

While I most likely wouldn't pay $75 to see Billy Idol, I sure can't hate on the guy. He made some damn good music, imo. Shame he's been reduced to playing the casino circuit, but a lot of kick ass artists have had to do the same thing to pay the bills.

Probably my favorite Billy Idol tune, though it's a close call between White Wedding and Rebel Yell.

He's got a point. If you like them or they were innovative, great. Onstage, rock and roll versions of 'Cats' is dated and shit, just go to Broadway instead.

Pretty much.

It's like "Phantom Of The Opera" for aging hipsters with ponytails and faded Molly Hatchet tour shirts.

Have you ever seen the Floyd?
No, I think they suck. The first album was OK.

I prefer the 'Duane Eddy' school of performance, where you get onstage and play your song and let it speak for itself. If the band whacks a fan in the head with a guitar, all the better. Subjecting people to seizure inducing slideshows and accompanying dancing fags is crap.

Next thing you know, they'll be installing plywood clipper ships in football stadiums and firing off faux cannons to create a complete 'matchday experience'.

$500? Meh. I haven't exactly been an enthusiastic Rush fan for some 20 years now. The Foo Fighters are more my speed these days. An old pal of mine is the program director for a couple of Wichitard rock stations. Sent me and my cuz a text a couple of weeks back asking us to come down for the show. What the hell. Free tickets. It wasn't until we hit the will-call window that we found out all the other neat shit that we were going to get do that night.

I thought you got the VIP tix because you mentioned the Meet and Greet. You got major BODE anyway. Free tickets and you got to meet the band.

Moving Pictures is a poor choice for an album for them to play live. Should have went with Grace Under Pressure.

I got to see Pink Floyd with David Gilmour during the Dogs of War tour back in 1988 at the Sydney entertainment centre
complete with anatomically correct giant male blow up pig flying overhead & the burning bead that wizzed past the sides of our heads.
Still ranks as one of the top 5 concerts I've been to

The Blue Man Group for me, back at the Zanzibar in 2003. When the second blue guy started hitting the PVC pipe with drumsticks - I freaked.

Then it hit me like a ton of bricks - it was almost as if he was trying to tell me a story... with his songs.

Man...I only heard about that show from friends that were there...For a while, I thought they exaggerated a bit, but from what I have compiled, it was as close to Woodstock as a bunch of guys in grease paint could get.

I bet those first audiences that Elvis drew had similar reactions...it was all so...mind expanding...so...cosmic.

Phibes, set the record straight...urban legend has it that someone scrawled BLUE MAN GROUP IS GOD on the shitter door of the venue, the night of that gig. Is that true, or am I being Snoped?

American jazz musicians don't OD on smack in their prime anymore.

Saw PF perform The Wall in '80 at the LA Sports Arena while trippin'. Drove from Phoenix with a couple friends while in the AF. Pretty fuckin' cool, even though I was never a huge Floyd fan. Also saw 'em on The Division Bell tour, I think.
