KC, apparently being a hotbed of Bugeater fans, has commercials running to watch the WKU game on PPV for the one time special price of just $39.95.
I shit you not.

I agree. It's a cupcake schedule, and it is shameful. It is, as was mentioned, the product of Callafraud and Pedeyshine's attempt to salvage their charade on our fans by pulling a Bill Snyder and loading up on cupcakes.
This sort of shit ends starting next year. When Tom Osborne took over as AD, he started scheduling more respectable games. It starts out slow, but notice there are no more I-AA or Sun Belt teams

I think Snyder learned that from Hayden Fry and, in all honesty, it's a good way to get a program turned around and change the attitudes of your players and fans....BUT, after you get the program on track, it's time to beef up the schedule. When Fry first came to Iowa, they had OOC games with Nebraska, Iowa State, UCLA, and I believe Oklahoma or Okie State. Fry's first Rose Bowl season included home wins over Nebraska and UCLA, with a road loss to Iowa State sandwiched in between, and that 1981 season remains one of my favorites. I gave up my season tickets when they went to the cupcake OOC schedule, as I grew tired of paying the money to see 50 point wins over Drake, UNI, UTEP, and Northern Illinois...just to mention a few of the cupcakes that appeared on the schedule. I read that Iowa has the second best OOC schedule in the Big 10 this year and, while it's not a killer OOC schedule, it's at least respectable with a road trip to Arizona and hosting Iowa State. The other two OOC games are Eastern Illinois and Ball State. As a fan, I would much prefer seeing Iowa lose to a good team than watch a total mismatch against a cupcake at $60-$70 a ticket.

the only road OOC game bama plays is @ Duke with brutal OOC games at home vs San Jose State and Georgia State.... who the hell is Georgia State, they even D1? And save the in conf games, South Carolina is weak, Arkansas is a dog shit program and Mississippi State would have to improve 1000% to reach dog shit status

Is that right? Funny, that's the one game I think Bama may lose this year. Our young DBs may get seriously abused by Ryan Mallett. Especially if Bama doesn't have Marcel Dareus putting pressure oon that big bastard.
Jesus Christ, I ain't getting into the "our conference's weak sisters are better than your conferences' weak sisters" shit any more. But the PAC 10 is about as shitty a conference as there is. Does anyone play defense at all?
Let me go on the record as saying I'm embarrassed as hell that we are playing Georgia State. That's ridiculous. How that got arranged I'll never know 'cause Bill Curry is not a friend of the Alabama program.
Are you saying Arkansas plays defense?
70-17 and 50-14 says otherwise

Sudden Sam wrote:But the PAC 10 is about as shitty a conference as there is. Does anyone play defense at all?
Let's play the games.
BUT... my aforementioned new SECBSH buddy maybe isn't as bad a SECBSH as I thought -- he seems to think the PAC is typically second only to the SEC in defense in most years.
Actually, my SECBSH buddy refers to the Big12 as the "all offense, no defense" conference.
And 7 different teams got votes to win the PAC (sure, some of the voters were obviously on meth). I think 7 is ridiculous, but there's a couple of teams that are GOING to be very good (both of them located in Oregon), a couple should be improved greatly over last year, on paper anyway (fUCLA, UDub, although UCLA's line seems to be breaking down faster than a Hyundai with no oil in it), and if Zona can get over their yearly injury problems, should be fairly deece. The I'll Only Vote For East Coast Schools Pollsters are again sucking Erickson's dick, but I'm just not seeing it. And I look for even the lowly Wazzu to improve this season -- and by "improve," I mean beat a 1A opponent.
The PAC is looking pretty good. And from what I can see, it looks like the "mighty" SEC has about 2 teams that would have a chance in the PAC -- Bama and Florida. And we never know which LSU is going to show up. Other than those two cupcake-gluttons, I don't think SECBSH should be dissing on
any other conference for being "weak."
Fuckin A... the "your conference is weaker than my conference" shit is flying...
IT MUST BE GETTING TO BE THAT TIME!!!!!!! KICK THAT SHIT THE FUCK OFF ALREADY.
And BTW -- Oregon's OOC makes those listed above look like muderers' row. BUT... New Mexico and Tennessee were actually good when the games were scheduled, aswas Central Michigan, who grew a vagina and cancelled late, leaving Oregon few options besides a state-school-cash-grab with Portland St... 1AA (yuk). Although Portland St might even improve with Nigel Burton replacing Glanville, and they might possibly keep it within 70 points. And what really sucks, is there isn't a stadium in the city of Portland that could even pretend to host the game, so Autzen it is.

You mean when Arky had Darren McFadden and Felix Jones, and STILL couldn't keep their offense on the field enough to stop USC from getting 14000 yards?

If you think ANY 17 year old kid in the nation who has a choice is going to choose to go to school in Iowa without geting paid you're a fool. You can bet that every out of state recruit that plays for the hawkeyes is being paid by someone in Iowa.

Alabama has some tradition on their side that Iowa doesnt, also most the kids playing there are from the south and its like playing at home. Theres a difference between playing in Tuscaloosa and playing in Iowa where there isnt shit for a 18-22 year old to do. If you dont think LA is a more desirabl;e place to live, then why are the real estate prices there so much higher? High School kids would much rather live in Southern California than in Iowa, thats what the NCAA had to go after. They figured out that withoug breaking any rules, USC had built up a lifestyle that was attractive to High School kids from all over the country. kings of a city like Los Angeles with no NFL team, stars at practice and at the games, all the things that a 17 year old kid would look for, USC had. thats why it had to be torn down.

Most 18-22 year old athletes do the same thing regardless of location. In fact, it's a challenge for athletes playing in expensive locales because drinks, food, kegs and just about EVERYTHING is more expensive.
Pull your head out of your ass for Christ's sake.

If all of that is true, twatlips, then why did USC feel the need to cheat? Of course it's easier for USC than Iowa to attract 4 and 5 star recruits, which is why Iowa generally lands 2 and 3 star players and makes the most of what they get. Thanks for sharing your opinion, dumbfuck, no matter how ignorant it might have been.

Pete was stocked with studs, what killed Pete was all of his assistants leaving every year and him replacing them with worse and worse candidates. And all that Philanthropist shit taking him away from the program and his job.
If you objectively look at what Pete had built in LA through the eyes of an unbiased teenaged High School kid and not the eyes of a fan of another team who hates USC, you see that he helped build something the NCAA had to tear down. The best weather in the nation, one of the most historic and famous stadiums in the world, they sent more players to the NFL than any other school year in and year out, went to a BCS bowl 7 tears in a row, finished in the top four 7 years in a row, A university that ranks in the top 25 overall in the nation, Los Angeles which is the TV, Movie and Music capital of the world and a USC alumni thats responsible for half the shit on TV that these kids watch. I know that you may have a deep down hatred for USC but in the eyes of most High School kids in the nation, USC is the perfect storm to recruit teenaged athletes to

USC didnt cheat, are you that slow to not understand that USC did not pay Reggie to come to USC and play? USC may not have caught on fast enough that an agent wanna be was paying Reggie to leave but that isnt the same as the school having to cheat, it was a flaw in their over sight

I'm going to pull a page straight out of your playbook and say that I beg to differ. There will be no links, but hearing the same story from different people affiliated with schools that Reggie was being recruited by, signed with, and no connection to the NCAA at all, lead me to believe that there was more than a bit of truth there.
And let's not get started on Joe McKnight. That's such a running joke that it's followed him to the NFL.

Funny how when schools talk about strengthening their OOC, UCLA seems to pop up on the schedule....Not that UCLA HAS been that tough lately, but NEVER lacks for a strong OOC... never, ever, ever....
