down 2-1 in the 4th, the good guys have 2nd and 3rd with 1 out, 3-2 count on the batter and the freaking ump rings up the kid on a pitch at least a foot outside. :brad:

They allegedly use volunteer umpires and some of them, judging by their mechanics are softball umpires. I'm not sure what kind of politics they have to go through to work those games, but I bet it involves a lot of ass kissing. I watched some of the games and think they opened up a real can of worms by allowing replay.

umm, how are the mechanics of a softball umpire any different?

A bad call is a bad call.

That may not have been a strike yesterday, that may not be a strike tomorrow, but today, that was a strike.

The pitch is coming from a different release point for starters.

The mechanics is how they make their strike or out calls, very deliberate.

What's with the sneaky slopes tipping pitches?
