They're the Presbyterian Blue Hose. I know of blue balls, but
Blue Hose? I suspect they'll have more than blue hoses when they leave Wake Forest on Sept 2.

A pic of their new "state of the art" 6,500 seat stadium.

I'd take some swipes at the Deacons, but I have this vague memory of my team losing to them in some shit bowl that isn't even played anymore.

Very weird season, that 02.
4OOC games (the PAC didn't add the 9th conf. game until later), all in Eugene.
While SEC-like, it was very out of the ordinary.
Lost 6 of the last 7, when that shit-ass bought-off-by-the-mob QB (whose name we do not speak) and the Whizzinator decided to pack it in early.
Sadly enough, some friends went to the Seattle Bowl, and said the entire crowd was all dressed in purple UDub gear, and merely showed up to boo the Ducks and beat up the Ducksfans, as Jet City sports fans are wont to do.

They also played in a fun, high scoring bowl game a year or two before Oregon made their Rose Bowl run in '94. I don't know why i still know that but i can't remember where I put my spare car key.

Vague memory -- without looking, I want to say the Alamo Bowl (which later became Bellotti's winter home).

Not the biggest crib, Coogs', but 50K strong in the Purple Nation are more than enough to squeeze out the heartiest visiting jodphurs-and-jackboots sportin' dandy come gameday.

yeah, K State can be a tough place to play. i know for a fact that one of the members of OU's 2000 NC team said that the KSU game was as loud as any place they played that year. like too loud to think, loud. this including a fairly epic come from behind win at ATM. war Torrance Marshall.
anyway, Wake. i thought about going to school at Wake for a bit. visited. pretty cool. Winston-Salem wasn't exactly a hot town, though. and Vandy was going to let me try out for the golf team. Vandy had a better radio station, too. My uncle who is the answer to the question: who did Jack Mildren beat out for the starting QB job at Oklahoma...almost went to Wake. they recruited him pretty hard. not sure how Wake Forest is recruiting a kid from Perry, Oklahoma in the late 60's (pop about 5000)....but, it happened. my dad, another Perry kid, almost went to Dartmouth on some hillbilly to the Ivies scholly. but, knocked up my mom instead....and tried to walk-on at OU in hoops.
