I always look at the #1 handicap hole, which in the case of the sun mountain course is #6-at 436 yards, I'm guessing there's more to this par 4 than meets the eye...

It looks like there's a creek running right through the landing area. Of my third shot.

Played for the first time since late October. Fucking seven months...wtf is that?

Of course, not that I'm complaining, the track I played today was 7200 yards with a slope rating of 151. It was the Gary Player signature course at The Woodlands Country Club. What a fucking beast this track was. Course record is a 69. I played with my good buddy who is a golf coach and two up and coming high schoolers who have some mad game. When I say mad game, I mean some future tour players. One of the kids fired a 66 last week with a bogey-bogey finish. The other kid fired a 69 at his home course in Louisiana on Saturday.

They were both playing a practice round for an AJGA event coming up this summer. Let me just tell ya, this course brought these two young studs to their knees. They both shot 80 today and by the end of the round had an exhausted look on their face with only one thing to say, "That course is hard."

For me? It was pretty much bad chip after bad chip after bad putt after bad putt. 43 out/43 in for a very uninsteresting 86. Struck my irons very well today and my driver put me into trouble on two holes, but my short game would make a blind man throw up in his own mouth.

I NEED to play more golf. I was so close last summer firing a couple of rounds in the mid 70s, but its gonna take a while to get back to that game. Fuck work.

It's an estimate of how a "bogey golfer" will play on said course. While not an exact science, it can be said that the higher the slope, the more difficult the course will play. A slope of 151 is major championship worthy. To put it in more perspective, the slope for Oak Hill East, site of the 2013 PGA Championship is 147.
