Good to see that the feds have cracked down on the crooks there as well as here in CT where the former mayor of hartford just got sent up the river for 3 years.

I could tell some major city accounting office stories. Suffice to say, taxpayers don't wanna know. And more politics is accomplished than actually money management.

While the perfect storm of factors that made Cleveland the ideal mafia town are being slowly processed in the ridiculous number of indictments in what is the most entrenched system of organized crime in this country, the real scandal of the buckeye state has seemingly evaporated--that of the 2004 attorney general J. Kenneth Blackwell having facilitated the biggest voter fraud in American history. Sure, ring up Russo ( :D ) but don't pretend to have gained any ground on the real fiends.

Russo paid a guy $10,000 to register as a Republican and oppose him for the office of Auditor. The guy did so, and won the uncontested Republican primary (there aren't many Republicans in Cuyahoga County, yo). The day after the party could replace him on the ballot, he withdrew from the race, leaving Russon unopposed in the general election. Russo then hired the guy to a job in the Auditor's office at a salary that was $10,000 higher than his boss received. Why did Russo do this? Who the fuck knows? He would have won if Ronald Reagan ran against him in Cuyahoga County. But he did it. He admitted that he did it. And he's going to do 21+ in the federal pen starting in April of 2011.

Now, what was it you said Blackwell did? Maybe some facts would help your case. But you have none. So just keep bleeting.

I spent the evening of the 2004 election watching the returns on television and wondering how the exit polls, which predicted an overwhelming victory for John Kerry, had gotten it so wrong.
