What happend to all those "Shovel ready jobs" obama, reid and pelosi told us would Solve the Unemployment Problem ? I want to know what happend to the $1,000,000,000,000 over the annual budget ,does anyone know what happend to all that money ? Last years annual budget was around $ 1,300,000,000,000 dollars, the demo's and obama added $1,000,000,000,000 over the annual budget for stimulus. What happend to all that money ?

Why don't you ask Rep. David Dreier and Rep. Joe Barton to start.

Or maybe you could ask Sen Chris Bond who, being from Missouri, had no problem saying SHOW ME to the prospect of stimulus money in his state.

Or maybe you could just Google if you need more examples you lazy ignorant dong gobbler.

It saddens me that we knew this silly "Stimulus plan" was doomed to fail before one cent was spent. Yet the demo's pushed it through congress without one GOP vote. They ignored the council of the adults in congress and jamed this disaster on our kids to pay the Butcher's Bill into there old age. And for what,so the left could line the pockets of their cronies and union hacks. How the hell can you spend $1,000,000,000,000 over the annual budget and have Unemployment go up ??? Have the economy sink deeper into the pit ? These people on the left are without a doubt too incompetent to be trusted with such an important responsibility. I wouldn't let a loon run a outhouse. November can't come fast enough. The sad part is the GOP can't save us form the Stimulus disaster the money has already been wasted. With luck they will be able to stop looming the health care abortion before the plan kicks in.

Obviously some money should have been set aside in the stimulus for a literacy program. Care to try re-posting that verbal diarrhea as something resembling a coherent English sentence?

Good ol' boy Kit Bond has been bringing home the bacon to the good folks of the Show Me since long before anyone dreamed of a stimulating package.
Yeah, we've got this new 256 million dollar I-35/29 bridge over the Mighty Mo that just opened 6 months early with his name on it.
And this will infuriate you comrade B, but get this... there isn't a fucking thing wrong with the old bridge it's replacing. And this will drive you crazy also... they're going to dismantle the iconic Paseo bridge, built in 1954, that not long ago they spent 50 mil refurbishing.
Where's that confounded bridge?

And you know these bridges are fine because you're a civil engineer? Nobody worried about the I-35 bridge in Minneapolis either. Seems to me that a soon to be 60 year old suspension bridge that is the most traveled bridge in your area could stand to be replaced by a dual decked bridge with some modern building technology behind it.
Oh, and after this last week on the football forum, I would cease and desist from all talk of "stimulating packages" lest you be accused of having KC tendencies.

Do you honestly think Nancy Pelosi gives two shits if legislation passed in her congress gets ANY Republican votes? BTW, if you want to get really pissed, since that seems to be your thing, check out Pelosi's
contribution to the "Stimulus".
How the hell can you spend $1,000,000,000,000 over the annual budget and have Unemployment go up ???
Even if Barry's stimulus was $1 trillion in targeted tax cuts for companies that hire x amount of new employees or buy new equipment, unemployment would still have gone up. It hadn't found it's bottom yet, so it really wouldn't have mattered what Barry did to a certain extent. It's a cycle: Unemployment results in lowered incomes and therefore lowered spending which results in more unemployment, and... Wait, rather than me and everyone else explaining this basic shit to some douche who just wants to be mad without even knowing why he's mad or what he's really mad at, how about if you go take Econ 101, Poli Sci and American History classes at your local Junior College and then report back here after the semester. At least then you can hopefully offer up more informed opinions than: "Wha-...what's going on here?"

Your lookin' for sympathy in a shark tank, Wags. Ever hear of a Heroes Project? That's what the Reds used to call any Big Undertaking over in the Motherland. Remember from what cloth our Komrade B is cut.
Meanwhile, watch ol' Kit turn 50 into 250...
Not like there isn't any precedent at work here. Remember when that useless fuck Cleaver dumped $18 mil into that cat box in the West Bottoms five frickin' years before breaking ground on the Sprint Center? Fuckin' politicians... :brad:

No, but I
can read a civil engineering report done in 2007 that rates the Paseo bridge as satisfactory.

I'm not debating the need for a new bridge and more lanes going across the river. Traffic in that area during rush hour is a hassle to be avoided. Which of course sends us Northlanders scurrying towards the 4 other crossing points within the city limits, making traffic on those bridges worse.
No, I'm decrying the removal of a perfectly functional piece of infrastructure for no reason other than 'out with the old, in with the new'.
As for modern bridge building technology, I don't know about that. I do know I've trusted the Paseo bridge my 48 years in this shit hole. I think the engineers in 1954 were quite up to the task.
Excellent pic, Truman. I was looking for one like that, but showing the new bridge in a more completed manner. Is it just me being a nostalgic fuck, or is the
real reason they're tearing down the Paseo because it's so pretty compared to that diamond shaped concrete monstrocity they put up to replace it?
I'm sorry, I know it's getting rave reviews from all quarters but to me it's just butt ugly.

All is well. There couldn't have been a more timely and correct response to the mess left to President Obama's uber competent economic team from the inept Bush administration. It ended the recession, worst economic disaster since the Great Depression, last June. Countless jobs have been created or saved. People whose homes were in jeopardy have been put back above water. The nation's infrastructure is once again safe and secure after years of neglect under the Republicans. What's best of all is that the coming election looks to be a vote of confidence in the policies of the Democratic Party by a grateful electorate.
Or so I've been told.

I'm sure they were too but weather events are a very difficult event to forecast for engineers despite all the data available to them. I have seen claims from residential developments designed/built with 100 year storm events only to sustain serious flood damage from a storm 5 years after completion of construction.
I did some basic research and found a failure analysis report from 2005 by a structural engineering group which included design flaws that did not account for longer sustained freezing temps in that area. Their report indicated the need for more maintenance of which wasn't currently in place or at least being followed. Does that mean a new bridge should be built? Who knows.
But don't assume the designs of an engineer from 1954 are able to take into account the climates of today not to mention the newer designs available to reduce maintenace and inspection costs on these bridges.

You missed the
point.
We just dropped
$50 MILLION FUCKING DOLLARS less than five fucking years ago into a project that was supposed to buy that old bridge at least another 15.
Instead, we'll have a pefectly viable bike path over the Mighty Mo after the Christopher S. BabyBacks opens later this Fall and before the barges begin the tear-down of our old friend next Spring. THAT'S our bitch.

Not even close.
Remember this "jewel"?
In 1997, a $23 million expansion made significant changes to the original Jahn design—most notably a glass enclosed east lobby. Other changes include: 2,000 more seats, upgraded lower-level seating, four restrooms, and a handicapped entrance to the arena.
Wiki fails to mention that despite our "upgrades", we
still managed to lose our annual tournament to the college basketball "hotbeds" of Dallas and OKC.
Facilities anybody?!
SO... Less than 10 years later, we build this:
Twenty-three million pissed down the drain. And EVERYBODY, save our current 5th District Congressman, knew it. Can an incompetent ex-Mayor be impeached from Congress? Fuck Emmvscal Cleaver...

Now
THAT is a fucking bridge, I don't care when it was built. I still can't believe they're going to tear it down. Pisses me off no end. Just insane, what a waste.
Perhaps we need to start a group to

At the time it was built, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world. Even if it never carries another vehicle, why tear it down?

Quit whining and be grateful that we have a man in the White House who has dedicated his long and illustrious career to making things right after 8 years of George W Bush. You will see when the November election comes and President Obama's policies carry the day and sweep the Tea Parties and Republicans from the political landscape.
I learned this over the weekend at the massive rally in Washington.

To be fair to Wags, it was the largest
