Call the Division Series

My big question is, why are these games on TBS? How come some network like NBC or ABC can't put some kind of package together to call some of these games? Just a thought.
Here are my predictions, and these series to me are pretty easy to call
Tampa Bay/Texas: I know that the Rays have stumbled in here, but they have been tested all year playing in the AL Beast and they do have a great lineup with speed. I think the Rays pitching can really neutralize the Rangers offense and they can get past this round.
Rays in 4
Minnesota/New York if the Angels can finally beat the Sox, and the Yankees can finally beat the Anges, then I think that the Twins can finally get by the Yankees in the playoffs. The Twinks were more of a cute overachieving team last year but they are clearly more focused and better than they were last year. CC is a bum and the entire yankee lineup sucks. I say Minny in 5.
Philadelphia/Cincinnati This shouldn't be much of a series, because the Reds are pretenders. Nice little season but they will be dealing with a team that constantly gets clutch hits. it will be interesting to see Halliday in his first playoff. Phillies in 3.
San Francisco/Atlanta This looks fairly even but I will go with the Braves. I know they have to face Lincecum but I just have this feeling that the ATL will get some masterful pitching performances. Braves in 4
so we'll have ....ALCS - Twins and Rays, NLCS- Braves and Phillies (just like I predicted in April)

I don't follow baseball too closely so I'll go with:
ALCS - Texas and Yankees, NLCS- Cinci and Giants

The anti-YFJO pick is always popular.
If I were you I'd still go with Philly over Cincy though. Great pitching dominates good hitting.

Tampa Bay-Texas
The Rangers stand a better chance against the Rays in a short series because they'll be able to throw Lee twice in 4 games if needed. If this was a 7-game series, I'd say Rays but with this short series...I see the Rangers pushing this one to the brink and pulling off the upset. Rangers in 5 games
New York-Minnesota
The Yankees own the Twins in the postseason and the Yankees pitching depth won't be exposed in a short series. Plus, Morneau isn't going to be available for the playoffs. The Twins know how to get to October, they just don't know what to do when they get there. Yankees in 4 games
Philadelphia-Cincinnati
Nobody has a 1-2-3 at the top of the rotation like the Phillies and it makes them virtually unbeatable in a 5-game series. This will be the only sweep at Division Series round. Phillies in 3 games
San Francisco-Atlanta
The Braves are on fumes and are banged up. The Giants got hot at the right time to overtake the Padres in the West and carry all the momentum in this series. The Bobby Cox story will not have a happy ending but I can at least see them taking one game. Giants in 4 games

Welcome to the post-season Roy. Any chance we get an encore?

I am not surprised by the Rays at all. Maddon is too much over an over manager and their hitting sucks.

That's such a shit baseball town you could probably walk up to the ticket window on game day and get lower level seats.

I know. Reminds me of the late 90s at the Vet.

So you're comparing a (young) franchise that's putting a winning product on the field vs. a (historically) shit run franchise who couldn't field a competitive team during that time and yet somehow they're the same thing?
Tard.

Sudden Sam wrote:I thought Jaso and Brignac might hit .270-.280 all year, but that was expecting too much. Zobrist fell apart this year and Upton is useless at the plate. Is there ever any talk down there about dumping BJ?
With Crawford sure to leave, can the Rays afford to get rid of Upton? Or would that be too much speed to give up in the outfield...him and Crawford gone?
The Rays will probably lose Soriano as well. Pena is gone, which isn't a bad thing. All that money they gave to Shields is looking like a bad investment now.
They built the team to make a big run at the World Series this season. It will be hard to see them being anything better than a 3rd place AL East team next year.

Rays sacked up over the weekend. Let's see if they can carry it over against Cliff Lee

Giants took care of business and beat the Braves 3 games to 1.
Giants vs. Phillies?
Phillies in 5. I see there bats coming alive in this series.

Just sucks that the Yankees and Phillies aren't rewarded for finishing off their opponents earlier. There should not be this long of a break between series.

So has Dave Price ever had to cover first base in his life with a runner on 2nd? Apparently not.

I think the Phillies like the long break- look what Halladay did with the extra rest. The only guy this seems to impact is Oswalt who said he felt a little rusty. That's a somewhat easy fix by increasing his throwing during this long break. Hamels also seemed to flourish with the extra rest too. His last pitch to Rolen was 95mph.
