Here's a good read and a good take on heavy metal vocalists.

That's was kinda interesting. No real surprises, though. I guess she wouldn't be very surprised to see that Ozzy has become a shambling wreck.

It is at a hockey game..who fucking cares ?
Just add him to the list of aging rock and rollers who think their voice is as good at 64 as it was at 34...NOT..Roger Daltry, David Gilmore, Pete Townsend, Neil Young to name several who really sound bad now, well... Neil never did sound good, but he rocked out..excepting Paul Rodgers who seems to have held it together pretty well....
Was listening to some Doors on the way home yesterday and wondered how Jim Morrison would sound at an older age..dude had a set of pipes on him..

I'm wondering if hearing has anything to do with this....at least that's what I'm thinking with Pete Townsend's name popping up.

That would make for a great Neil Young lyric.

Like shit. He was already having problems with his voice before he died.

I think he might have already used it.

I see a woman in the night
With a baby in her hand
Under an old street light
Near a garbage can
Now she puts the kid away,
and she's gone to get a hit
She hates her life,
and what she's done to it
There's one more kid
that will never go to school
Never get to fall in love,
never get to be cool.
Does a garbage can count ?

Papa Willie wrote:Ozzy peaked in about '75-'76 as far as his range went. The thing about him back then, was in a lot of his songs - he KEPT his voice up high. Some of those other guys would be lower but hit high peaks. As far as singing Ozzy around the time of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath & Sabotage - you need to press on your balls with a razor. I honestly don't even see how the poor old bastard can even talk - much less sing anymore.
I'm sure drinking a bottle of booze a day for like 15 years straight also helped.

Even Evel Knievel never made a jump that far.
Dumbshit.

I've got to say that I didn't really think it was that far of a leap. Uh..honestly. Maybe I'm off base here, though. ~looks around~
