Is your Atty Gen elected or appointed?

Post by Screw_Michigan »

Here in God's Country, aka the District of Columbia, we have elections on Tuesday just like the rest of you regular class states (we here in DC are treated as second class citizens, less than people who live in territories). One thing I noticed while going through the voter guide today is that there is an initiative on the ballot to make the District Atty Gen an elected position instead of an appointed position. I think this is mostly because our current AG, Peter Nickles, has spent more time being Mayor Fenty's henchman than actually enforcing the laws of the District. I think the City Council got this put on the ballot.

Made me think to myself, I've never had to vote for this before. What are the pros/cons of having an elected/appointed attorney general? Anyone who has any ideas behind this, feel free to share.

Just to let all you GOPers in advance, whatever you say, I will be voting the opposite, so choose your words carefully.

Dicks.

You are truly one of the worst pieces of shit to ever post on this board. Start giving up your paycheck for reparations now and then you can shut the fuck up about your racist blasts.

Based on the fact that you've got 18,000 posts on this here message board, I'm fairly certain your wife is out trolling for dudes to glaze her eyelids with manwash.

Well, aren't you about as dumb as box of rocks?

For starters, you don't have to vote for one of the corrupt dicks with a D or R next to their name.

For another, you get to appoint a guy who the electorate thinks will do the best job, rather than an appointed guy who is going to promote a preconcieved agenda of the corrupt dickhead who appointed him, and is now looking to get his dick sucked in return.

Those are the obvious ones.
