I can't believe I just figured this out, but Zaun looks EXACTLY like Nick Nolte. I don't know what he was thinking running against Boswell. That guy will be a Congressman until the day he dies. You have to be insane to waste money trying to beat Boswell OR Grassley. I think people just automatically vote for those 2. Zaun's a good guy, though. He used to have a hardware store in Urbandale when I was a kid and was always nice to everyone. His son (he's probably in his early 20's by now) is a racist from what I have been told from those that know him.

Branstad campaign playing Van Halen "Jump" as they are about to introduce him as the "new" governor. I know Terry was governor back when that song was popular, but come on.......it's 2010 dude. Get with the times.

Let's hope his boys aren't out drinking and driving this time around!

Yeah, he bears a strong resemblence to Nolte. He ran a close race with Boswell, although the campaign was one of the dirtiest in recent memory, with both sides slinging the mud and avoiding the real issues. This was the perfect time for the Republicans to unseat Boswell but they fell a little short.

Yeah, the campaign was annoying. Boswell bitching about Zaun's alleged past credit card debt or something. Zaun is a nice guy, but he's not the most intelligent. I think that hurt him. Boswell is just a whole heck of a lot smarter than him.
