Ouch.

I nicked myself pretty good on mine with the julienne attachment but nothing like that. Those blades are sharp as fuck. I've been afraid of exactly what happened to you. Enough that I usually take the time to slow down and pay very close attention when using that tool.

Good PSA

I got a mondolin slicer with all kinds of dust on it. My Furi knives do everything but garlic. One of the greatest products ever:

I have a mini processor that I load up with about 20 cloves before making a red sauce or alfredo. Perfect every time. I used to have the magic bullet but a piece broke. Trying to find the replacement motor on ebay at the right price.

I mostly use it for making paper thin slices and julienne cuts. It beats the hell out of any knife for that purpose. It's also good for making slices of uniform thickness or something like large amounts of sliced onions for a burger cookout.

Please tell me you don't actually put 20 cloves of garlic in an alfredo sauce?

How did you get it to stop bleeding? I did something similar to that, to my ring finger, with a chef's knife earlier this year and ended up in the ER because I was leaking uncontrollably all over the house.

They cleaned it up, stuck some kind of coagulant gauze on it, wrapped it and billed me for $1,800.

Mikey the key is to wrap it tight & hold it raised above your head for about half an hour
it makes it harder for the blood to pump as fast
you can also hold a cold pack on it which will help slow the blood flow
then once it has slowed, antiseptic cream non stick gauze & medical tape wrapped firmly but not over tightly around the area
I then changed the dressing next morning after cleaning around it with witchhazel then more cream, nonstick gauze & tape
I went to the doc that afternoon to have a check on it he said keep it clean moist & covered & the whole section should pretty much grow back on it's own cost $50 for doctor visit though I'll get $34 back on medicare & $10 to restock my medicine chest with nonstick gauze couple of rolls of medical tape & a box of fingerdoms for protection while I'm working or cooking.

I don't. When I was originally typing it, I was thinking about my red sauce which I do put 20 cloves in. Granted, I make it in about 1 gallon batches and use it for pastas and pizzas so 20 cloves isn't too much. In a typical alfredo to feed 4, I use 4-5 cloves.

Ah, OK.

So it's more of a garlic cream sauce than an alfredo sauce. How long do those peeled garlic cloves keep fresh?

Well, Gynos seem to be pretty smart. I'd listen to him.

A Python and TWIS post back to back? Cuda's racksucker can't get here fast enough.

fuck off, you unfunny cunt. It's good to see both Python and TWiS bringing up the readability of this place- exactly the opposite of your contributions, Auntie MGoo.
