Utah was vastly overrated-look at their scheduled and you'll see what I mean squeeked by a horrible horrible Pittsburgh team, then proceeded to run rampant over a who's who of also rans....why they were ever ranked number 6 is beyond me....TCU is for reals

auburn definitely looked fucking awesome over that juggernaut Chattanooga team....travelling to tuscaloosa, maybe a different story

LSU looked impressive in the win over bama

Sort of surprised that Stanford moved up to #6 from #13 (nice jump, eh 'spray?), not undeserved though IMO. Last week there were 7 one loss teams ahead of them. Missouri, Alabama and Oklahoma all lost, but they were able to jump Wisconsin, Nebraska and tOSU. I guess the win over 'Zona was pretty impressive after all, and the bye didn't help tOSU much in the rankings.

From what I hear, even if they end up #5 there's a good chance that they wouldn't qualify for a BCS game.

If you did, would you guys even bring people to the game? Your game vs Zona featured two ranked teams, primetime on national tv, and the atmosphere was about as lively as a MAC stadium on a Wednesday night.

Only to keep Harbaugh in MIchigan's price range.

Good point, and something I don't understand either. If I was closer than 450 miiles I might consider going myself.

Who knows. Maybe people are still coming down from the World Series euphoria and aren't ready for any more excitement? :?

When I was a kid and the old stadium held 92,000 on really uncomfortable benches, games against SC and Cal were guaranteed sellouts. Other conference games, depending on who the other team was, would usually bring in 60,000+. A game like Saturday's would have come pretty close to capacity. I used to hawk sodas in the stands and always made good money.

I think they barely broke 40,000 on Saturday.

guess we'll add this to the list of responses for whenever anyone asks "why would harbaugh leave stanford?"

If Harbaugh left and the stadium was empty, would anyone notice?

have you seen them play? of course not, you're in the middle of the country and they don't broadcast many Utah games out there....I've seen them play 4 times this year and didn't think they were anything special coming into the TCU game...I knew TCU was going to jack them up...only thing is I thought it would be worse.....good thing Patternson called off the dogs otherwise it could have been a really ugly

Right now Alabama is as high as they are only on reputation and rampant BSSECHomerism.

Problem is that the coach is moving to Michigan and taking the whole damn team with him.
Then it'll be back to FCS level play at best.

just pointing out your criticism of utah parrots everyone else's criticism of boise.

i don't live in the middle of the country. even if i did i have this thing called the internet and can watch any game i feel like. (although no, none of the games i've felt like watching this year involved utah.)

Along with...Stanford head coaches have a demonstrable record of spectacular success when leaving for declining Midwestern powerhouse programs.

well at least the ranked team that boise played is still ranked...pitt is fucking terrible
can watch any game i feel like. (although no, none of the games i've felt like watching this year involved utah.)
that's my point....nobody has seen utah play probably until they watched TCU face plant the utes into their home turf....lots of people have seen boise play (some may like them, lots don't, but not many can say they haven't seen them)

their national exposure is directly proportional to the amount of vitriol directed their way

er, vatech plays in the acc. they're ranked for the same reasons nevada's ranked. pitt's still indefeated in the big east, by the by.

not sure how many people have actually watched boise, either. theire primetime showcase was against a team that lost to james madison the following week, so all that oohing and aahing didn't last long. they're next showcase was a tuesday night outing that was dismissed out-of-hand because it was on a tuesday night. not saying it's fair, just pointing out why your initial criticism was the same.

At that rate you'll be winning 20 games a season by 2014.

I may need to borrow some Michigan gear from you to wear when the Wolverines play Wisconsin. The only Michigan gear I've got is "Ann Arbor is a Whore" and "Muck Fichigan" shirts.

I can see this whole "Tuesday" thing is really bothering you
what about "Thursday" does that bother you too or is Thursday a more palpable day?

please explain why thursday does or doesn't bother you and why "tuesday" causes you so much grief

TIA

Tuesday and Thursday don't make much difference, but your use of "palpable" is unpalatable.

sorry, i forget that your primary criticism of boise state are of the "trick plays" "sad uptempo style" sorts....although I do remember that you were defending them to some degree in this thread

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=36728&start=0

but in my own defense, the constant denigration of boise state seems to center around "blue field, play nobody, if they played in the ________ (insert appropriate conference)" sort, so they tend to blend together...

my bad....

i don't remember where i said any of that either. maybe you're referring to my first post in that thread, which was dripping with sarcasm. fine if you didn't pick up on it, though the rest of my posts probably tell you what i think about boise.
