Tonight, in concert, LED ZEPPELIN

It has been posited by a certain Canadian poster who shall remain nameless that there are no good Led Zeppelin bootlegs out there. At 9:00 PM I will begin broadcasting a live Led Zeppelin marathon culled from my 50+ GB of live Led Zeppelin songs. These are all bootlegs. No studio overdubs whatsoever. Drop on in and give a listen.

Q: What do B_Schmuck's musical taste and his wife share in common?
A: They both inhabit the 8th grade.

Perhaps you would like to drop in and tell me how bad this killer take on Robert Johnson's Traveling Riverside Blues is.

Fuck off Canuck...B is a lib and all that shit, but his musical knowledge is way beyond what ever kind of shit you have the brains to listen too...you could not find a good deep track if it was ramming its cock up your sorry ass...

Dropped in last night just in time for Achilles Last Stand. Sounded as good as it did in the 8th grade. Or the 12th.

what?
I didn't PM you asking for help. The next time I PM anyone here asking for backup will be the first.
However, I've got 6 straight PM's from you left in my inbox from June, wanting to pile-on Van.
Not only are you a snarky Canuck, you are a serial liar. Otis thinks you suck.
Bad move, Martard.

Led Zeppelin sucks so much cock and is SO fucking overrated I don't know where to start. Local KC rock stations run them into the ground, as if they're current hits. I fucking HATE Led Zeppelin.

I am sorta with Paul on this one. I wouldn't say they are overrated, however, I can only listen to the same song so many times... no matter how great it is. I haven't listened to Zeppelin since the 80s.

Would you say they suck cock?
Zeppelin is just a small part of my ever expanding music library. At last count I have about 300 other groups. Currently in the car CD player is this:
Before that was The Clash's first album and before that Arcade Fire's latest "The Suburbs". I'm by no means some kind of 24 hour a day Zeppelin listener like some people I know. But I can still admit that they seriously fucking rock, even if they are the crutch that every classic rock station leans on.

The improbability of that is staggering, somewhere along the lines of Paul ever having a take that didn't appear to be coming from a mongoloid.
Maybe you haven't
intentionally listened to Zep in the past 20 years, but you'd be hard pressed to have avoided ever hearing some in passing unless you're a diamond miner in Zimbabwe.

Absolutely. Vocalists shouldn't 'shriek'. They can yell, scream, whatever. When they start screeching, someone needs to crack them straight in the mouth. Shit band.

Count me as one who thinks a little Led Zep goes a long way. Sure, some of their stuff rocks, but a lot is pretentious and forgettable. I gag when I hear an alleged rock radio station tell me "it's time to get the Led out".

I'm glad you didn't mention the "male camel toe" action going on with Zeppelin.
It's like the (gay) elephant in the room that nobody wants to acknowledge.

nice thing about zep is that if you are weary of them from the non stop playing of stairway or black dog, there is tons of LZ b side stuff that is rarely heard but still rocks. i can honestly say i've never heard a LZ song that i thought sucked badly and i can't say that about any other band. i'm a big rush fan, but, some of their stuff, particularly from the 80s is straight up unlistenable. i found an old cassette of power windows and at least half the tracks are beyond bad.

You have your redeeming moments, (insert_gratuitous_insult_here)aholic.
Rack
There have been attempts to rank the Top 10 Zep songs here... it can't be done, because there are too many that absolutely
must belong on any fans list. Top 25 might be possible, but then again,
something brilliant would have to be left off.
I suppose we could start a thread with
least favorite LZ tunes, but I doubt we could get to 10.
I don't know where to start... All of My Love, perhaps. :?

The music critics errrrrr cretins on here are laughable....
Led Zepplin sucks cock...Rush made a bad album in the 80's...too much Led is a bad thing....blah..blah..blah...
No fucking shit ??...any album played on classic rock radio incessantly is going to make any body say...." They suck", if you don't have the brains to go looking for something else. Fact is classic rock radio really has a limited play list, and one they need to expand, since it can make many dedicated fans turn the dial, go to XM, or hit the I pod more. Fine with that.
If I did not listen to one more Led song on the radio fine...but hearing some of those boot legs that B puts on is great..and that is the true music, not some studio creation where Mutt Lange (BTW, dude was an idiot to screw around on Shania) made one of his groups play it over and over and over again until they got it right. The normal buying demographic for a lot of album sales is not true music appreciation people, but bandwagoners who go for the moment and the hype.
Every band / artist playing in the 80' made an album (s) that sucked. Led, Def Leppard, Eric Clapton, Rush...and all will admit it that they completely sucked. I own some of those albums as do many others on here as well. Just the way it was in those days with studios dictating how, when, and what the album content was. Each band changes about every 10 years or so, and some of the older bands / artists still performing and recording now, are producing some of their best music ever, even with diminished vocal track capabilities.
So if you listened to the bootlegs B Smack had on the other night, and you still say Led Zepplin sucks, then just go ahead and remove yourself from the stream and STFU. Deep tracks and bootlegs will get you much better music than multi track studio productions ..surprise..

Maybe you need some Rush
There is unrest on the one board,
There is trouble with the dweebs,
For the douchebags hate Led Zepplin
And BSmack ignores their pleas.
The trouble with the douchebags,
(And they're quite convinced they're right)
They say Zepplin is too old school
And their music sounds too white
But Zep fans can't help their feelings
If they like the songs Zep rocks
And they wonder why the douchebags
Prefer black rap singer cocks
There is trouble on the one board
from Ucan'ts empty head
But that is beacuse
All his hair has fled
So then Marty formed a union
And demanded equal rights.
"The Zep fans own the airwaves"
On their ankles, we will bite"
Now there's no more Zep debate,
KC told them what is what
And the dweebs are all kept quiet
By scroll, delete and Trots
Fuck...not bad ...I will rack that. If that is original stuff..you best start writing cover lyrics full time.

I understand perfectly. You don't have an ear for music. Doesn't make you a bad person, just one who shouldn't be commenting about things that fly right over your HUGE head.
So who do you like today, I mean really like? I suppose whoever that might be, they will have a short shelf life, 'cause you'll get tired of it after a bit and not want to hear it anymore.
Great music, art, literature... is timeless. Making an assinine statement that you haven't wanted to listen to Zep for 20 years shows you didn't know shit about them in the first place.
Oh My God, Zep... Flee from Me, Keepers of the Doom.

Listening to the same old songs
over and over and over... instead of broadening my horizons makes me...
ill-informed?
Or does it make you a very limited person?
Mull that over as your putting on your denim jacket (collar up) and ripped jeans with a bandana tied around one leg the next time you're leaving your house to see some Zeppelin cover band.

Good call. It

No work today and it was halftime of the UConn game. Two shockers in a row. Not bad for a team picked to finish 10th in the Big East. As stated in the JA Forum, Happy Thanksgiving Wags.
