This is the game of the week, in my opinion.

Predictions?

I predict it will be the ESPN Game of the Week.

trev, you attention whore. SECBSH is well represented here and don't need you horning in on their suckfest.

Prediction? After the game, they will all get together at midfield and chant "SEC, SEC" until your saggy cowtits come home.

Not an honest Iron Bowl unless it is played at Legion Field.

It's the most hardcore rivalry in sports. Easily the game of the year.
That's going a little far, but it'll be nice to catch an NFL game on Saturday.

You dumb cunt. Have you ever been to Legion Field?
A rivarly that has been played in a neutral venue for over 100 years is not the same once it moves to home stadiums.

That's bullshit, Spray. If UAB can play there, why not the Iron Bowl? It has nothing to do with the neighborhood and everything to do with moving the games to campuses because the schools can make more money that way. I have always enjoyed the tradition of neutral site rivalry games in college football, and that tradition is going to the wayside. I understand the economic situation involving the City of Birmingham owning a decrepit albatross built with out-dated ideals but can't the two flagship state schools in Alabama have enough smart (and wealthy) people to keep alive a tradition or is it really just the ghetto the hood is in?

What sparked this? I'm kinda new to college football. I was just looking forward to this game and thought I'd get something started.

PT had an OK year. Not much of a team around him. He learned a lot and I'm sure will be successful. He's just very competitive. Colorado State as a team did horrible. It was so surreal watching him play on TV.

You dumb bitch on so many levels... these waters are invested with SEC honks, yet you thought it incumbent upon YOU to start this thread... on a late Saturday nite so's you could beat the rush and claim "first". This, from a Pac 10 slut who doesn't have the least bit of business talking about this game...a game you don't know the first thing about.

On the bright side, you've got another woman in Jsc sympathetic to your cause, so at least you have that going for you.

Spray,

You're confusing me. You are against people getting shot and stabbed so you don't mind the game being played at home fields? You don't seem to understand......those of us not involved in this game typically have office pools going where we bet on how many people get murdered at this game. Auburn/Alabama has no meaning to us if nobody dies.

You may as well just cancel the series if you take out the shootings/stabbings. I probably won't even watch the game now that I have nothing to bet on.

In all seriousness, I can't decide if I should make Auburn my 2nd favorite team for the remainder of the year or root against them.

If I root against them (and Oregon), we could have a Boise State-TCU matchup. That would be fucking awesome! No, not the game. I probably wouldn't even watch. But the meltdown nationwide over that national title matchup would be some awesome shit to listen to! Plus, it might be the ONLY thing that could help convince the powers that be to get a playoff system rolling.

But if I root for them, there's always the possibility of seeing an Auburn national title being taken away, along with another Heisman trophy. I kinda think it's funny to see 2005 removed from the Heisman recordbooks. Plus, this would make for a great story if Auburn has a national title taken away. College football brings it on all by themselves, so I like to laugh at the sport from time to time. How much egg would the NCAA have on their face if they have to completely whipe away a national title and a 2nd Heisman?

As you can see, I'm torn between 2 scenarios and am unsure of what to cheer for.

The game is on Friday. At Alabama I assume. What is all this talk about playing on a neutral field??

Wags, quit swingin' your purse at me. I think it's a bit of fresh air for me to start this thread.

Y'all need to understand something. To people in Alabama, this game is more important than the National Championship. Period.
That says a lot about the people in Alabama. Bunch of brainless hayseeds.

I hope you don't really believe that.
I've seen the evidence. In this thread, no less.

Nobody in Alabama gives a shit what YOU enjoy.

...and typical lib-speak: throw money at it until it works.
