Figured it would be a corn stalk for Nebraska. Glad to see they got a steak on there. Order some beef from Omaha Steaks or if you're passing through....just stop at any store in the state, or most any cafe, restaurant, bar and grill etc... There is a noticeable difference in quality and taste.

I've ordered steaks from Omaha Steaks and, while they were excellent, I couldn't say that they were any better than what we get from Iowa beef.

Iowa=corn. No surprise there.

I'm pretty sure California leads the nation in avocado production and sourdough bread.

I think it's hilarious that they (the SNL folks) made a show dedicated to making fun of Portland -- lots of material to work with.

And I've been hearing that motto used lately -- "Portland, where young people go to retire."

BTW -- I see those crazy jacked up bicycles almost daily -- usually with a 40-something slob who missed the Cool Boat 20 years ago riding it.

I got stuck in a traffic jam next to this guy.

The video doesn't do it justice. While there's plenty of sculpture cars around here, that one is something to behold.

Maybe not what the state does best, but certainly what the city does best -- attract freaks.

Although Last Thursday is a good party. They do it once a month... as a matter of fact, it's going on at this very moment, but since it's freak 30 degrees out, it doesn't quite have the same festive atmospere, but close. Just an all-out drunkfest. Close down the street (depending on time of year -- when the street stays open, it's car/pedestrian/bike warfare), crank the beer taps into overdrive, set up booths on the sidewalk (no permit required unless you sell food), booze it up, and hope no one beats each other up.

Good times.

Saw that one on 181st a couple of weeks ago.

This is a little bit more freaky than the Last Thursday, which not being a Portland resident, I drive through the town a couple of times per week,but would not go there for any recreational purposes, save concerts. What up Eric Clapton ?
