we had this simple little $20 bet which I won. So I asked him to send me the equivalent of $5 in S. Korean currency which with a bit of research I found was 5000 won, and then to donate the rest to his favorite charity. I woulda' had him donate it all to charity, but was curious what an envelope postmarked from S. Korea would look like.

So today I get this airmailed manilla envelope from Angyang and wouldn't you know it, this no account a-hole didn't send me the 5000 won banknote I craved... he sends a 10000 won banknote instead.

I read a book a few months ago about a couple kids growing up in the Henry Horner Homes on the West Side of Chicago. It perked my interest that a common theme in ghettos were lots of currency exchanges. Now I was thinking, why the hell would they need currency exchanges? Well, they didn't exchange currency in the traditional sense as you would see in DC or other international cities. They were just check cashing stores.
