Bears v Pack in game

Looks like Mace was right about the injury count. Clifton is out and Rodgers has already taken a low shot. Fine with me, the Bears are a better matchup for the Steelers.

They're a better matchup for the Jets too. But I don't give a fuck how the Jets match up. I do care how the Steelers match up.

The Bears would still have to win the game. Not a safe assumption at this point.

Agreed. The body count must rise if the Bears are to win.

Looks like it's going to be up to the Bears' defense to score some points....and Hester. The offense has done nothing up to this point. Time for a turnover or three if the Bears hope to get back in this one.

I don't think Martz has a slant pattern in his playbook -

He's thrown that screen 5 times and the pack has been on it each time

Outplayed and outcoached so far
Agreed. That's what I've been sitting here thinking too.

Damn, the Bears get a fluke INT and then Cutleritis strikes again.

So in the last 6 quarters of play between these two teams the Bears have scored a whopping 3 points. Impressive.

They'd better make those adjustments to their gameplan at the half. They're damn lucky to only be down 2 TDs, so a big Hester return or a pick 6 can still get them within striking distance.

On a positive note, at least the Hawkeyes are handling Indiana and on their way to their first conference win.

Urlacher needed to score on that. Collins now in the game. Bears went from fucked to doomed.

Huge play by Rodgers to prevent the cheap TD. If Urlacher takes that the distance, this is definitely a new game...even with Collins.

Bears look like real iodots arguing obvious penalties.

How the fuck you throw an INT to BJ Raji escapes me completely. Then to make it a Pick 6?

Ouch.

At least they were able to answer with a TD. Good stop by the defense and the Bears will have one more chance to tie it up.

Aside from the pick 6, Hanie has looked more like a #1 QB than either Cutler or Collins.....so far.

Well, that pick will do it. Props to the Packers and good luck in the Super Bowl.

What was Cuntler's injury? Given the situation, if he was capable of standing upright on the sideline, he should've been playing. I guess the 3rd string qb was the better option regardless.

Cutler supposedly injured a knee but I think maybe he just got hit too many times to suit him .....and they were down 14-0 when he left the game. Not exactly the kind of leadership you're looking for in a QB, imo.

In the playoffs, there's a huge difference between being injured and just being hurt. Favre played through basically everything up until this year. Rivers played in the AFC title game with a torn up knee and played quite well. Legendary playoff performances are sometimes from heroic efforts from guys that play through stuff they probably shouldn't be playing through. This only fuels anyone's previous thought that you can't win with Cutler and that he's one of the softest QBs in the league. You at least would give the guy points if he plays through it and gives it an effort. He looks worse by just standing there moping while a 3rd stringer keeps them in the game and damn near got them into overtime. To me, I don't know how guys in the locker room can look at him the same way again no matter how hurt he was.

All he needed was a fresh tampax and then someone like Ditka or Butkus to tell him to get his ass back on the field.

Other players are crushing Cutler on Twitter

I give Urlacher points for sticking up for a teammate but I don't know how he doesn't want to cave his face in considering how hard he played today.

Cuntler pussed out when the going got tough.
WHAT a shocker!

Granted that Gay Cuntler is a twat bitch but, in that situation, if you can go you go. If you have the mindset of, "Oh, I'm getting kicked in the cunt. Get me out of here!" you get weeded out long before you make it to the NFL.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he couldn't go.

What a pleasant surprise. There were times this year that I didn’t believe the Packers would make the playoffs. Now they have a shot at title #13. Sweet.

Out of curiousity, how would that have been cheap? Urlacher made a good play.

Until Cutler is laying flat out on the field, unable to get up, he should have been in there. No heart. No leadership.

I heard it was a sprain.

Doctor: Well Mr. Cutler it looks like you sprained your MCL at some point during the game.

Cutler: A sprain? I swear it was worse than that. I want a second opinion.

Doctor: Fine. You're a pussy too.

In fairness, a sprained MCL isn't like a sprained ankle or something. The language may sound mild, but it's a pretty serious deal. It's the same thing as a tear. He should've been on crutches on the sideline. The training staff has some explaining to do.

He shoulda taken the needle, taped it up and even worn a brace if necessary and deal with any additional injury he could have gotten later. It's win or go home. He wanted to go home.

Except that they couldn't win with him healthy, what makes you think they could win with him shot up and in a brace?

The taxi squad guy's a better QB anyway.

But is it even an issue of toughness? He was playing like ass at 100%. Would it have been wise to play him at 50%? Collins was horrid, but the 3rd stringer was getting it done...until that pesky game ending INT.

I say leave it up to the coaches to pull him if they are not satisfied with his performance, and maybe they did just that and are not owning up to it. I'm just saying if he was asked if he could go play, he should have played. See: MJD.

Cheap from an offensive perspective...the Packers D had kept them out of the end zone and it would've been big for the Bears to get points from another source other than the offense considering they had been shut down up to that point. The fact Rodgers tackled Urlacher instead of letting him go the distance...it allowed his defense to stop them or in that case, for Collins to drool all over himself and not move them anywhere. I don't call the play cheap...just when a team doesn't have to manufacture a drive to get points and instead they get it on one big play...a pick 6 or kick return for 6...I call those "cheap" points.

So in traditional Jay Cutler fashion, is he going to get butt-hurt over all this, put his house up for sale and demand to be traded from the NFL?

I really dont know why Cutler didnt just keep his ass in the locker room. He doesnt give a shit about his team, winning or losing. He isnt alone though. Watch the replay of the pick 6 Raji took to the house. Aaron Rogers is running around like a crazy bastard. Meanwhile 2 of his team mates are on the bench never even blinking an eye. Face facts peeps, 75% of fans care a whole lot more than 75% of the players.

War Twitter during the games.

It is professional football - and it's natural for an individual to be interested in their own personal professional advancement over other motivators.

Prior to free agency explosion (and media and money explosion) it was easier to keep players dialed into the concept of TEAM.

Now, not so much.
