He wasn't white so the national media was unable to tie the shooter to the tea party or Sarah Palin.
Unfortunately for them, it was just another chimpout in Detroit which is hardly worth mentioning.
I'm waiting to hear from the yardape's grandmammy before I jump to any conclusions, though. No doubt he was a good kid who was just trying to get his life together.

I would assume because it happened in Detroit, but you're right. My neighborhood MPD precinct in DC has metal detectors at the door. Wouldn't have stopped him, but it at least would have given the cops at least a split-second's notice.

Maybe they're not reaching for their pieces but it would at least get their attention, no? Christ, does it hurt being this stupid?

It depends.
If the sensitivity can be set so that normal things like a set of car keys doesn't set them off, then it would get their attention. If not, then the damn thing would go off for nearly everone and they would ignore it.

There was a bank robbery/hostage situation in Takoma Park, MD, on Friday. Footage below, this shit's pretty good, too.
The only benefit of our ever increasing surveillance state is the gripping crime footage.

Good thing that the POS died. Otherwise the mall would have been sued for not salting the parking lot.

The hostage chick has some serious stems. What's that hooker dress she's wearing? Is she on a break from a strip club, doing some banking?
Blood in Detroit goes out with some style points on that over-the-counter dive, roll and shoot number. You can't practice that. And the cop throwing the trash can with his one remaining hand--that'll get a promotion.

gotta give credit where due, that sliding over the counter while shooting move was pretty sweet. he's prolly telling everybody in hell about it at this moment.
