Welcome to Thornton Hospital

As I sit in my private room at Thornton Hospital at UC San Diego, looking out my window at a brilliant blue La Jolla sky, life could not be better.
Got my wifi, got tOSU vs. Wisky on the TV, Kindle for reading at night, lunch is coming, oh yeah and a new bionic hip, what more could I ask for. OK, a fifth of single malt wouldn't hurt. Maybe tomorrow after discharge.

I didn't request it. I just had to list myself as a Republican when I checked in. Not sure but I think that maybe most or all rooms here are private. I swear the atrium lobby looks like a five star hotel, with a grand piano, full grown palm trees, etc. No bar though.
As long as insurance is covering it, I'm not gonna say anything.

Surgery was yesterday in the morning. Discharge tomorrow is optimal, depending on whether they think I can get up and go to the bathroom unassisted. I'm pretty sure I can do that now. PT is coming by in a while to get me walking. There's some pain in the ass right now, but this thing has been a lot easier and more painless than I could ever have imagined.
Oh, and RACK Wisky BTW. Bring tOSU down one more time.

Green Hospital is the republican hospital.
And if you have a pain in the ass you must be at UCSD Hospital.

Hope the new hip works for you, Mikey, and the PT isn't too painful. Good luck.

Thanks guys
Walked a few laps around the ward yesterday (with crutches). Will prolly get discharged today start the PT exercises today or tomorrow. Can't sleep too well right now w/o the oxy, but hopefully that will change soon.

I used to take my mom there for her pain management thingers.
If they don't discharge ya today, didja want me to come visit you?
Edit: Nevermind. The wife might think I'm a tard and go all "Kill Bill" on me. I need my limbs this week.

That would be awesome. 99% sure I'll be gone by noon, though.
Not too sure, also, how the OL would react if she came by to meet "previously unknown female friend from the internet", if you know what I mean. It would definitely take some 'splainin.
Edit: I answered before I saw your edit. Great minds think alike and stuff.

It's pretty stressful on a wife to see her husband go thru this And worry about him falling.
Maybe not so for Mikey's wife.
Just kidding.
Good luck with your recovery Mikey.

Just makes it easier for her to push him down the stairs and collect on the life insurance.
Mrs. Mikey: "I don't know what he was thinking, officer, trying to go down the stairs after having hip surgery. This is just tragic."
Officer: "Yes it is. Did he have life insurance?"
Mrs. Mikey: "Well yeah. I just bumped it another million last week."
STAY AWAY FROM STAIRS, MIKEY, AND MAKE SURE THE HAIR DRYER IS NO WHERE NEAR THE TUB.
