He could get beat 10 times over, and I still think there's a market for him in the UFC. People STILL wanna see him here.

The thing is, he'd HAVE to get beat 10 times over for his management to "lower themselves" enough to allow a reasonable negotiation, IMHO.

All MMA participants and supporters need to be euthanized for the betterment of society.

Yep.

It's too violent a sport. And it breeds too many wannabe's who feel they need to exhibit this sort of behaviour in public. Professional boxing is as far sanctioned combat in sports should go in my opinion.

who cares about your shitty worthless opinion? no one fucking asked for it, pussy.

facefuck a shotgun, asshole.

That's an interesting take Todd.

One of the reasons I like MMA as much as I actually do is because of the respect the majority of the fighters show toward each other and their craft.

Violent people are going to BE violent people, regardless of what sport they participate in, music they listen to, etc. Another opinion, I suppose.

Ya. I think maybe Todd is thinking about "Pride fighting". I dunno?

Still, the "Russian roulette" comparison was a bit off side. Kinda spun outta control on that one, Taz.

So when there isn't a pay per view, do you guys just beat off to the movie Bloodsport running on a continuous loop in your cribs?

Is that enough to tide you over?

No, he's thinking of UFC2, Remco Pardoel vs. Orlando Weit...

back in the days when I used to be in a judo club to stay in shape, and when the UFC was watchable.

Good analogy for Fedor -- he's an SEC team, and he finally had to play a conference game.

King Cupcake finally stepped up to someone his size/skill.

Matt Linldand(sup Homey) spotted Fedor about 300 pounds and gave him all he could handle -- why this is a suprise to anyone is the surprise -- dude ducked Couture with all his might and mouth.

That fight against the rookie was sure fair, too.

Paper champion, hence him avoiding UFC at all costs.

Word, but then what would the sloped forehead crowd have to care about?

Isn't there an MMA forum here?

In other news, I read where Tommy Morrison doesn't believe in HIV and wants to make a comeback... sorta' like Scott trying to park his Tundra or Avalon at Terminal B when his flight originates from Terminal A.

Toddowen wrote: The match begins and Nazi psycho immediately gets pygmy in a headlock and takes him to the mat
There's no such thing as a "headlock" (only joints can be locked, and the old streetfight notion of "getting a guy in a headlock" goes by a different name to trained grapplers -- they call it "someone voluntarily giving up their back")

That judo newaza is known as kesa gatami.
pulling him underneath his massive hulk to the side of his body where his sledghammer sized elbow awaits to turn pygmymans head into a pancake.
There's 6 positins grapplers can be engaged in on the mat -- kesa gatami is a pretty advantageous one.

As soon as pygmymans head appeared beneath nazis waiting elbow...THUCK....THUCK...THUCK....match over.
There's a very æffective defense for that -- don't let a guy twice your size put you in kesa gatami. (Although the elbow strikes aren't really a part of Kodokan/sport judo -- they just come naturally.)

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if pygmyman hasn't had a meal since that fight without it being fed him through a tube.

Probably should have tapped.

But in the Olden Days of UFC, you had the all-weights, and the various styles. And the lesson to be learned here -- don't bring your kickboxing to a judo match.

The bar I used to hang out at used to show MMA fights every once in a while on the bar TVs. Seemed like every fight turned into 2 guys rolling around on a mat trying to hump each other into submission. In other words, it is both boring AND gay.

Ahh yes, there it is. You figured 'em out. Totally gay. ALL of 'em, in fact.

KC Scott wrote:I don't get the hating on MMA - why?
I don't really have any problems with the sport, the violence, etc., beyond the fact I have zero interest in it and don't get the appeal. Actually, I was kind of into it many years ago when I was a kid and it was still relatively "underground." I don't get how MMA captures the interest of anyone beyond the age of 12...but to each their own.

The problem I have revolves more around the culture of meatheaded douchebags the "sport" has spawned. I stopped going to certain bars because of these these clown acts. And, of course, get a few beers in them and they turn into "likes to fight guy." You know the guy. Fake tan. Some stupid t-shirt with Chinese writing on it. Tribal band tat. Gold necklace. Eminem haircut. Which isn't always unwelcomed. The unintentional comedy from this crowd can be solid entertainment.

I agree with Toddowen that this is a garbage sport. Chidren should never be allowed to view it and any reasonable adult would not waste any time with it. It plays to the lowest instincts of human being. You can't perform any of the actions in real life without being arrested so I don't consider it even a sport. Boxing is a sport that has skill and science to it. Look at some old clips of Muhammed Ali or Sugar Ray Lenard and you can easily pick up on that. This MMA stuff has little skill to detect. Just bash another guys brains in or swist his leg until it snaps. It's disgusting and I could care less if it's the new fad. So are things like wearing your pants so that half of your behind sticks out. No thanks. I'll read a book.
