Award shows still suck, but the only thing cooler than AF getting a Grammy for The Suburbs would have been if they had gotten it for Funeral. Amazing that the Grammys actually chose to recognize a worthy band in their prime.

B, I have a feeling it was a bit of a make up call.

Even so, it was still the most hip and up to date thing the Grammys have done in a long damn time.

Fuck the no-taste mainstream assholes who listen to FM radio and are pissed that Brittney Spears or Lady Gaga didn't win the award.

I think that is what is most pathetic about award shows, especially the Grammys. So many people think it's an award for how famous you are.

a quick search on youtube didn't turn up much, go ahead and link me up with one or more of their songs that deserves praise because I don't know of any.

Hell, give all the awards to those bitches and others like them. I couldn't care less. Keep the respectable artists out of that whole world. That's how they maintain respectability in the first place. Once bands start getting this kind of recognition and subsequent commercialism, their work & creativity tends to take a nose dive. AF is heading down that path, imo. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of anything they've done post-Funeral. But that one album is good enough to keep them high on the totem pole for now.

Hey, you're the one who started the topic. The least you could do is provide some proof of their epicosity.

all the people at work were like "who is arcade fire" and I was like "who is every other band who won something that night?"

He spelled arcade and fire correctly, but his browser auto-corrected to Dale and Earnhardt.

Completely and totally accurate. I absolutely agree.

Bad take, but hey, it's your opinion. You've set them up to fail because nothing they produce from here on out will ever be Funeral to you. Just like all the Pearl Jam fans who stopped listening after Ten. You can say whatever you want about Neon Bible (and I'll disagree with you), but you're selling the Suburbs short.

Bwahah.

One of the commenters suggested just what you're afraid of, except more in life of Win dumping Regine, kicking her out of the band, hooking up with multiple random skanks and writing a break up album.

well... most novelists got just one good book in them. one story is such a big deal it races out of them. the rest are keeping up with their rep.

dont know if that pertains to music.
