MacDougal can't even hit someone correctly.

Good day to have 'Da Hook on your fantasy squad.

D-Young is a pimp! I missed the game because I was at class...definitely have to catch the replay later tonight.

I don't mean to be carrying on but that's a perfect way to get a season started. Bonderman threw 7 strong innings and the bats were on fire. It's only one game but damn it feels good to see the Tigers dominate in their opener.

Eh ... it's not that bad, Paul. Lima clearly looked out of sync today and worked behind the count for the most part.

It's a loss, but all you can do is tip your hat to a strong game from Bonderman and move on. At least Pickering touched Ugie for one late in the game.

Which is a fine thing to do if you are pitching at Comerica against a lineup as limp as the Tigers. If you go 3-2, throw a borderline pitch and don't sweat it if he doesn't swing. Chances are you'll get the next guy to ground out. Worst thing you can do is groove a pitch for fear of walking a batter.

Pretty selective company he's keeping there.
Only the 3rd player to go deep 3 times on opening day.

Dmitri Young, Detroit Tigers 2005
George Bell, Toronto Blue Jays 1988

and some stiff named Tuffy Rhodes with the Chicago Cubs in 1994

I remember that game...Harry went nuts behind the mike when that third one went out.

Whether he hit three home runs or struck out three times...it was great to simply get an opening day win. This is one of the most anticipated seasons for the Tigers that I can remember. I was too young to enjoy the runs in 1984 and 1987...I'm dying to see a Tigers team make a run at the playoffs.

What isn't as well-known is that the Mets won that game. :P
