well, if all of Bama is smart because of McElroy...then it must also by the same logic show that all of Bama is fat like Mount Cody.

Nobody cares about these stories except for when it's the dumbshits who score a 9.

Sam,
I don't think you want your precious Tahd represented by one person:

Keepin' the record skraight...
I heard that on the Dan Patrick show the other day. The also interviewed Ryan Mallet and he said he hadn't gotten his result yet.

how the hell long can it take to score one of those things? it's a ~50 question test. i can bang out 50 6 page papers in a weekend, easy. sucks and you want to die after living in the minds of 18 year olds horribly botched "takes" on assigned topics/readings, shameless "this is what i think the prof wants to hear" papers, the 4-5 that are actually good, and finally....the ones that were written in the hour or two before class whilst still hungover.
the old "scantron" at CU could crank out 150, 100 question fill-in-the-bubble test exams in less than 5 minutes. i'd think the NFL would have the means to make the Wunderlic "grading" have a system better than the now-defunct Scantron that used to sit inside the bowels of Folsom Field. it was 1960's technology.

Please tell me you have at least a few students who can actually write a readable paper. The shit I've seen from college students the past 10-15 years wouldn't have garnered a passing grade in elementary school in the 1960s.
CU is a quality public school. i've taught on and off at the U of Denver as well and it's a fabled USA Today top 100 (a fact the admin tells the students ad nauseum). i'd say i've seen very good but not excellent students for the most part as far as the "admission criteria" standards go. as a group, not Stanford or Princeton. Decent cross section of Colorado public school kids from the Denver suburbs, prep school kids from the NE, bunch of kids from Cali....some from Texas and Chicago area.
i'd say about 10-15% are good, capable students.
but, with the rest there are so many factors: they weren't prepared in HS to do college work outside pass "state competence exams"....they weren't given much instruction on actual written work. HS these days is a combo of babysitting, policing, and prepping kids to take standardized exams. can't blame the kids really, but i don't have the time to compensate for that lack. i don't teach "skills", that's not my job. undergrad coursework is designed to have a topical curriculum.
and most they don't care....that's the other big chunk % of poor work. they don't care. college is an awesome Reality TV show. that's fine with me...but, it makes my job a bit of a parody and a waste of time to slog through a stack of BS that's not even about the assigned topic. semi-comprehensible musings prefaced by the workhorse of bad work: "it's my opinion that.....". i'm not a cheerleader whose job it is to motivate them or "make it fun". certainly not remunerated in such a way to make that "going the extra mile" part too often. i've tried that....stayed up all night to finish a group of papers that 4 students out of 50 come pick up....you learn it's just not worth it. their ambivalence is formidable.
and then there's the grade inflation......whoa!

Considering their prof actually clacked out this mess of misplaced possessives in a run-on for the ages, you might be asking the wrong guy.
And since we're even discussing this, I'd say we need spring games STAT.
And yes... yes I did begin a paragraph (or two) with a conjunction. Fire away.

McElroy and Andrew Luck both playes HS b all in Texas.
I guess that makes Texas pretty smart.
(McElroy was born in Los Angeles but moved to Texas when he was 10. Luck was born in U-rope)
