Sure, get close to the action... 8)

A Zimbabwean has been killed by a pride of lions while he was showering in a camp in the country's north.

The man was attacked while using an outside shower at a fishing camp near Mana Pools National Park, Johnny Rodrigues, chairman of the Zimbabwean Conservation Task Force told German news agency DPA.

The area, located on the Zambesi River, is popular with hunters, most of whom stay in basic camps that offer little protection against attack by wild animals.

The attack is the latest in a string of lion attacks in the area, Mr Rodrigues said.

Eight villagers were killed in a spate of lion attacks over a period of about two months this year, he said. Those attacks only stopped when a pride of lions was killed.

The dead man, a tourist, was named as Pete Evershed by the iAfrica website.

Here's an eight day "safari" package specializing in varmits. Down there that means Un-fucking-Limited Baboons, Vervet Monkeys,
and Rock Rabbits. Who wouldn't want to kill monkeys all day, and live in a country club. And only five large $.

Airfare, taxidermy, and tips extra. Plus other "trophy" animals available at extra cost.

I wonder who that posts here hangs heads of dead animals inside their house? I have a pronghorn and a ring neck
pheasant, but I gave up hunting years ago. This monkey package is making me rethink that.

Thinking about going on an African safari next year. Not sure if it'll be South Africa, though. Don't plan to do any hunting.

Namibia has very good safaris and Lufthansa flies direct into Windhoek. The governmental situation is very stable and the prices are likely to be cheaper than SA.

By-the-by, I've got a SA friend who I flew with in Angola who does aerial safaris in the Transvaal region near the border to Zimbabwe. If this interests you let me know and I can provide an email for you to get in touch with him. One of these days I'm going to take him up on his standing offer to go into the veldt with him and go drink beer and brai while getting trampled by elephants, stalked by lions, mauled by hippos, bitten by snakes or crocs, torn to pieces by marauding gangs of baboons, or savaged by wiley hyenas. He (Charlie) always makes "When Animals Attack" seem tame by comparison.

This past January he took some Russian oligarch and his entire entourage out for a two week safari, which he says was truly epic. No expense spared, 5 star food and drink, good accomodations driven out, ala "Out of Africa," and an hour of flightseeing every day. He said the tip the man left him when they returned was close to a month's salary.

car rental is extremely expensive in namibia but it's still cheaper than paying some safari company to drive your ass around when you can just do it yourself. suppose food is also included in a safari package, but it's just as easy to drop $5 on boerewors at the pik n' pay and braai those yourself as well.

I have a pretty decent 9-point whitetail, inside spread is 18.5”. I never hung it when we moved to the new house, I might loan/donate it to a local watering hole.

I spose a feeces throwing primate could provoke me into killing him.

Are you stareing at the rack or giveing the thumbs up in that pic M club?

Quite the bullitin board. We have dudes that have flown around Africa, or know dudes who have. Dudes who have actually been to Africa and can give directions...and a dude, whos mom is a hunting guide in Africa.

And the only way I can figure JTR getting on Leno, is he has pics of Jay getting it on with a baboon.

I think eating baboon is pretty much a last resort even for African spearchuckers.

Word.

Shooting animals for "sport" is bullshit.

You shoot it - you kill it.

You kill it - you eat it.
They're varmints, dumbshit. Do you eat rats if you kill them?

Guess again, tard...or you could try reading the link. Do you even know what a varmint is?
On many farms in South Africa baboons are considered very destructive pests
I gotta hand it to these Afrikaaners, though. Making the exterminators pay you $5K each to come out and exterminate your vermin is brilliant.
