Good riddance... I was amazed how some of the locals here lapped up his and Damon's signings as if it would counter the turnover the team had during the off season. Under/over on hitting the 50 win mark?

Good fucking riddance is right. Don't let the door hit you in the ass you fucking clown.

I feel bad for Rays fan. Three straight years as contenders and this is how it ends. They bet the farm and came up bust. It's gonna be a long year.

So does he go in?

Users like McGwire and Sosa aren't going to get a sniff at the Hall. Bonds probably will get blackballed too, even though the had a HOF career before the juice. Manny got caught twice while still in the game.

With that second positive test and the bitch way he retired...I wouldn't put him in either. He had a great career but it obviously enchanced. The voters have taken a stand against those who've been fingered in the steroid era...I don't see him being any different than Bonds or McGwire or Clemens or Palmeiro.

I don't think it's that dire but they're going to have a hard time winning right now with Longo on the shelf. They're not a bad team...still some talent there but the bullpen is depleted and the protection in the middle of the order around Longoria is no longer there. They have guys like Jennings and Hellickson that can fill a couple of their major holes in the immediate future but they lost too many pieces over the winter to compete with the Yankees and Sox.

After the dust settles and people re-evaluate the steroid era, sure. However... don't expect more than 25% his 1st five years on the ballot though.

I think he failed on both counts.

I guess some things need to be spelled out.
