That's what happens when you take hallucinogens before attending concerts. Never was really interested in tripping at concerts as that was money down the toilet and you're in public. Good story, though.

Saw Pink Floyd one night tripping my brains out. I don’t remember specifics, but I do remember that I really enjoyed myself. Did a mild dose of acid for Uriah Heep & Deep Purple back around 1972 or 73. I can remember specific parts of that show.

Dosed for a couple of Dead shows. But I had already seen them stone cold sober before. Both times were epic and I can still vividly remember most of the happenings at both shows. But I'd never do it again. My days of chemical experimentation are past me.

Many times at Dead shows. It was the way to be. Once on shrooms in the stadium at UC Santa Barbara it was about a 100 degree day. Tripped out for a couple hours laying on my back in the grass and went home with second degree sunburn on my face- not the most pleasant experience.

~36,000 people in attendance... ~3600 people treated for heatstroke.
Good times.

Saw Smashing Pumpkins at the Hollywood Palladium back in '93, pretty soon after Siamese Dream had come out. My friend and I could only round up one hit of acid, so we just tore it in half. It ended up being just about perfect for a show. The lights were amazing and the music was mind-blowing ("Silverfuck" especially), but it never got to that "too fucked up to interact with non-tripping people" point that most acid trips eventually get to. To this day, it's probably the best concert experience of my life...

See, you did it right. People who dose or take any substance before shows usually overcompensate and not want to "underwhelm" the experience and be left disappointed when the trick is to take less than you think is necessary. Mike's story, my friends, is the way to go.MiketheangrydrunkenCUfan wrote:Saw Smashing Pumpkins at the Hollywood Palladium back in '93, pretty soon after Siamese Dream had come out. Can you remember if they played Hummer and/or Mayonaise? I have a couple bootlegs from the Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie eras and I still listen to them every once in a while.

Found this on YouTube. It's almost the entire show. Pretty sure this is the one I saw. There's a setlist in the info section. I must've been a little more fucked up than I thought, cuz "Silverfuck" isn't on there. They did play "Hummer," but no "Mayonaise," it appears.Screw_Michigan wrote:See, you did it right. Looks like they played two nights. I think I might've been at this show...
I had the Mayonaise Dream bootleg CD back in the day. Had a lot of cool acoustic shit on it. I recently downloaded a 4-disc set of Pumpkins live shit/rarities called Mashed Potatoes, which is also pretty great. They were probably my favorite band for a few years there, but it all started going downhill with Adore.

You should've tried a large party fishing boat with underwater lights, so that you can see the fish arise from the depths to communicate with you, much in the way the theologians of Star Trek communicated.
Was dosed during that post.
