One Choice

You can only choose one. Its a set of four tickets to any sporting event in the world. What would you pick? It can be anything, even a hypothetical like Houston Texans/Dallas Cowboys Superbowl tickets. Also, give a reality ticket. Something you'd have to choose to attend within a calendar year.
For me?
United States vs. Mexico for the World Cup. The intensity and hatred between these two squads would be something to see live in person IF it were the final in the World Cup.
As for reality? Glass seats to any NHL game seven playoff game.

My dream ticket? A 4 day pass to The Masters.
Back here in reality, I'll settle for some ducats to a Steelers home game sometime in the next few years.

Both dream and potential reality:
2011 World Series
Game 7
Phillies vs. Red Sox
Citizens Bank Park
Halladay vs Lester
4 tickets:
Me
my son
my dad
I scalp the 4th and use it to buy a season ticket plan for the 2012 season.

Well, if this were 2001 I'd say being the driver of one of those adventure bikes that haul the camera men alongside the cyclists at the tour de france. Not so much anymore as Id get more satisfaction cheering on my local club ride.
Mariners ws tickets would be pretty cool.

I was trying to figure some way to work that angle in, but just wasn't up to it.

Dream: Texas A&M vs. Anyone in the Finals of a CFB championship game.
Reality: I'd take a NLCS of St. Louis vs. Houston where I could go to watch Houston in St. Loius for a few games. If not St. Louis, I'd settle for Cincy or Chicago. Take that back, I don't want to see Chicago even make the playoffs. Fuck the Cubs.

Smart man.
I'd take the Caps or the Nats in Game 7 of each team's respective final. Or WMU in the hockey national championship after beating Wisconsin, Michigan and Miami to get there.

A friend of mine from college was going out with Dan Gurney's daughter when he was in HS and college. For a few years he got to hang out in the pits at the Indy 500.

went to the indy 500 2 years back in the late 80s. a friend of mine in the navy grew up about two miles from the track. the race itself was alright, but, the festivities on the infield in turn 4 were better. it was drunken debauchery on a grand scale.
the best part was two drunken losers sitting in their clapped out nova right in front of us giving some dude shit all day. eventually drunken loser #1 walks over to dude's car and sucker punches him through his open window.
he picked the wrong guy to fukk with.
the guy jumps out of his ride and pummels DL#1 in about 2.7 seconds. DL#2, not being much smarter than his comrade tries jumping in about halfway through, i guess that would be about a second and a half in. he hit that fukker with a straight right that people in the grandstands could have heard. it was fukken beautiful. due then goes back to his car and watches the rest of the race with his OL. the DL brothers went back to the nova and got awful quite for the rest of the afternoon.
the 10 bucks i paid to sit in the infield that day was the best 10 entertainment dollars i ever spent.
when i lived in nashville, i had a few neck friends at work that went to bristol regularly. said it was by far the best nascar event on the circuit.

My dream scenario is to see the Red Wings win the Stanley Cup and I almost had that happen a couple years ago...Game 5 in 2008. It was a perfect situation...sat lower bowl so I could've taken so many pictures and I would've been close to the celebration. They had the game won up until the last minute and then eventually lost in triple OT. If I could see one thing in person, I want to be in the Joe when the Wings win a championship. Playoff hockey is still the best live event I've witnessed. I saw a couple playoffs game with the Tigers in 2006 including them winning the ALCS on the Ordonez walk-off home run. That was extra special since I got to go with my dad.
Bucket list of games/events (no particular order)...
*Super Bowl...probably not worth the price of admission unless the Lions ever make it.
*Winter or summer Olympics...would have to be either here or Canada. I'd prefer winter to watch hockey.
*The Masters...I know you have to get the special pass to go the entire thing but just to be there on Sunday would great.
*Indianapolis 500...my interest in racing decreases each year but if I could go to one race, it would be that.
*U.S. Open tennis...my sister lives in Jersey (for now) so maybe that's something that can happen in the next year or two.
*EPL soccer...I'd love to see a game involving Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool. If I ever travel to England, that would be something I'd want to do while I'm over there.
*World Cup soccer...if it ever comes back to the States, I'd love to check out a game. They've got a Team USA Gold Cup match at Ford Field this summer...that looks tempting.
*Michigan-Ohio State game...obviously I'd prefer to see it in Ann Arbor.
*Final Four...if I was a State fan, I would've been all over going to the recent one at Ford Field.
*Kentucky Derby...my girlfriend loves horses and we'll watch these big races on TV and I'm fairly sure that would be the #1 event I could get her to go to.

Wait a minute...you are telling me you have been a MIchigan fan your whole life, are graduated from college and working and you still have never gone to a Michigan/O$U game? What the fuck?!?!?!
When I was 11 I got to go to my first A&M game after watching many a game at home on TV. I went to A&M vs. t.u. in College Station. I got to see my first Bonfire that year. We beat t.u. 20-13 and I swore I would do whatever it took to become a Texas Aggie.
Yeah, you gotta go to a Mich/O$U game. Can't believe you haven't been to one yet...

What does that have to do with never attending the biggest game of the year for the team you are such a huge fan of? Shoalzie has been around many a year here in the BTPCFB forum. I would have guessed the nucleus of fans in the BTPCFB forum over the years had been to their "big game" at least once.
Then again...you could be insinuating he is a bandwagon fan? I doubt it...

No, I am not. I am insinuating that he'd probably like to have his team have a fighting chance before he plops down $200 or more to see scU-M/tOSU. Unlike you, $200 or more to us plebes mean a lot more than a new TV or a round of golf in FLA.

I made the trek to Columbia in 2007. 9 hour drive knowing full well A&M would get shithammered by Misery and we lost by 2 TDs. I plan to make the trek to Ames, Iowa this year. I'm a fan no matter how good or bad my team is. I always considered Shoalzie to be the same. I would have thought he would have taken in his team's biggest game every year by now. If I'm not mistaken, I think the guy is around 30 years old?
