It's a hang fire. Big deal. It happens. Anyone who deals with missiles of this type is trained on the possibility.

Does the training involve running away?
Assuming you run in the right direction (either side of the missile), it doesn't hurt. I guess both the ejection and flight motors failed. Weird shit and scary. I know I'd shit my pants if it just blooped out of the tube right in front of me.
I had a hang fire with a Redeye which has a much smaller warhead than Eyrx. The Army was getting rid of its old stock so our battery got 8 missiles to fire. I tracked the target, fired and....nothing. Fired again...nothing. It finally fired on the third try but if it hadn't, I would have to walk that bitch downrange,
carefully set it down and then withdraw at combat speed (ie run) to the side of the missile.
