came close the other day with a co-worker who was really going out of his way to make another co-worker's life a living hell. And it got me to thinking...it's been a hella long time since i was in a fight 1 on 1..probably 6 yrs or so when one of my old roomies and myself got into a pretty descent brawl with a couple other guys at a party...

when was your last scrap, ladies?

Over 20 years ago after a mens slow pitch softball game. There was only 1 punch landed squarely... the rest was a rassling' match until we both got thirsty and needed another beer.

Bunch of guys from my platoon went to some museum/junkyard where they had a lot of wrecked vehicles from Desert Storm when we ran into a similar sized group of squids. We began to mock their Popeye the Sailor looking faggoty uniforms when a general scrum broke out. I busted one in the mouth and he went down and I started feeling like Barney Badass....it didn't last very long. I turned around just in time to see a hamsized fist make contact with my face.

Got into a scrum with an ex-friend in college. We were both trashed and did minimal damage to each other before it was broken up. It was then that I realized I couldn't fight for shit when I was drunk. That led to some behavior modification on my part.

freshman year high school. he rushed to tackle me and I clasped the fists together and brought them down on his back. it didn't last long, and I don't know exactly why that would hurt the guy enough to stop the fight.

I would say I lost the fight, but by no means did I get beaten down. I fully expected to get my ass kicked. I was the point guard in basketball. He was the center and was twice my size. In scrimmage at practice, I fouled him kinda hard, but not on purpose. He was a friend of mine so I didn’t think anything of it. In the locker room after practice, he tackled me from behind and started slamming my head into the tile floor. I got away from him and got him into a headlock. I believe the wrestling term for what I did was called the DDT. I dropped his head onto the tile 3 times. He got away from me and punched me in the mouth once and it was broken up.

Mighta been a few more punches in there. Can’t remember. I do remember walking out of there with a small cut on my lip and a headache from him dribbling my head on the ground after the sucker tackle, but I held my own though against someone twice my size. Helped having an older brother I guess who I got to spar with on occasion...

This fight between an old mx pro turned wanna-be tough guy trainer(Ryan Hughs), and the rep for oakley goggles(Michael LaPaglia) turned into a ten pager at my motocross message board. Both guys are in their mid to late 30's.

Last scrap i got into was on the schoolbus in tenth grade. Didnt win, didnt loose but i got a lot of respect from the bus bully.

Neh...that's never really been a problem. Our entire team was white (well, one Asian). I've always lived in places where the black population was less than 5% for some odd reason, even in the suberb of Dallas (Frisco) back when I was there in 1999.

Got an old friend on Facebook who actually has the team picture. 42 was the guy who I got in a fight with. 11 was me. Not really a fair fight especially since I got tackled from behind.

Some big tweeker dude was beating up his woman in the parking lot at the bar. I took exception, and said "why don't you bring some of that over here, Tough Guy, or do men pose too much risk of hitting back?"

Unfortunately, I had just left my old buddy's wedding, where his alcoholic relatives and I, about 10-12 people, had just polished off an entire keg (do the math, and that's not counting the shots, and no I wasn't driving). I was straight hammered. But I wasn't about to let such an evil deed go unpunished, and no one elsewas stepping up to the plate (big ol fucker).

Game on.

Those judo and juijitsu lessons actually were woth something besides entertainment. Dude managed to slip into the huge crowd that gathered, and a couple of his friends ran some interference for his egress (my buddies eventually beat down the interference runners). And I'll be damned -- his freaking woman pulled up in the car and helped him escape, which was probably a good thing, since things had just begun to go horribly wrong for him.

What a stupid bitch. I ran into her a couple of weeks later... and fucked her.

Ahhhh, the Good Old Days.

We had 2 teams, A team and B team (all pictured). A team was for the better kids, but coach typically moved a few back and forth to give the kids on the fence opportunities to play with the other schools' better players. I was just confused why both teams were photo'd at once. I also only see 1 coach.. how did he manage to coach 2 teams at once given schedules etc..?

Back in the good ole days, we didn't need 10 public employees with benefits out the ass to do the job of one. Practices were intermingled. Each full court had the two smaller courts so we'd practice 2 5 on 5 games most times.

The actual games against other schools? The B team always played first. While they did so, the A team would sit in the bleachers and watch. When the A team played, the B team watched. Those in the bleachers didn't fuck around because there wood be consequences if you didn't sit there, behave and root your fellow team on. You dick around while coach is coaching the game, be ready to run suicides forever and then the wood paddle will redden your ass aplenty.

And some wonder what is wrong with America's youth today...no dicipline. Well, in my house there is.

I got paddled at least once a week if not more from the assistant principle for shit like chewing gum or talking in class or talking back to a teacher (fuck you Mr. Todd, btw.) And my dad told him to call him every time I get sent to the office for a paddling so I can get another when I got home. Dad was easy on me and used a steel beaded leather belt.
