But even if there is a violation, something tells me it is not a major violation. From several sources, I've heard they really are trying to do things right. There has been A LOT of money put into LSU football in recent years and more on the way, they don't want a screw up to the cash cow. The athletic facilities and stadium are top tier, LSU football has a huge impact on the economy, again I would be really surprised if this amounts to very much.

So, Oregon should get a pass, too?

All's I'm saying is they did the same thing as Oregon... which was severely flirt with the gray area.

They didn't get quite as good of players as Oregon did.

Looks like the NCAA is trying to push this one through real fast to get on with the investigation with Lyles so that they can either A. keep it separate from the Lyles incident so LSU can avoid a LOIC charge or B. show that LSU has a recent history of recruiting violations so that they can punish LSU more severely. Seeing as how LSU is in the SEC, Im going with the NCAA leaning towards A
