...homeless people aren't panhandling during rush hour and are staying under their bridges.
Last heat wave I remember this bad was in 1980. Don't think we've approached that level yet, but, it could still happen. OKC saps are enduring like 30 straight days of over 100 degree temps. Sucks to be them. The record was 50 days in, you guessed it, 1980.
But it's hot all over right now. If it's not a broiler where you live, go fuck yourself, I don't want to hear it.
It's so hot...

We've had freakish weather all summer -- cool and showery.
The weatherdork tells us that the high pressure crushing you Flyover fools is so strong, our little "upper level disurbances" can't clear the Cascades/Rockies, and are just getting stuck and piling up.
I think you can count on your finders how many times we've cracked 80 this year (normal would be measured in dozens). Sunday, we had an entire average-July's worth of rain (3/4").
Normally, we'd be picking the last blueberries right now... just starting to get the early ones. Most tomatoes are just starting to flower -- we'd usually have bushels by now.
Supposed to hit a whopping 72 today.

My A/C is included in my rent, so I've been opening the sliding window and cranking the A/C all week. Nothing says AMERICA like wasting energy.

This heat is great if you're trying to maintain weight loss. I swear I dropped another 1-2 lbs yesterday in my softball game. yeah yeah I know, how the hell do even sweat playing softball.. With a score of 21-18, suffice to say there wasn't a whole lot of standing around drinking beer.
That happens after the game.

Yeah, you're really getting over.
Don't bitch too much when your landlord raises the rent.
How much does it cost to rent a room above someones garage in DC anyway?

Some would view that benevolent move at an attempt to cool the neighborhood.

Which must be based on the same law of thermodynamics that leads people to leave the fridge open to "cool the house down."

Anyone who says you don't sweat playing softball ain't playin' the game right.
Sam I think I could use your kind on my team. Playoffs start next week. You in?
It rained at the start of the game for about 15 minutes which was a godsend- kept the infield dirt nice and soft so no crazy hops at SS. Problem was the OF was like a slip n slide and any ball in the gap was an automatic triple if you had an ounce of speed.
I should also point it the rain produced a few wet t-shirts for the opposing team's female players.

For the past couple of weeks it's been boringly consistent around here.
Cool and foggy in the mornings. Burns off by about 10. 75 here at the beach, about 80 to 84 or so at home in the afternoon, 40% or 50% humidity .
Nightime lows around 60, been sleeping with the windows and sliding glass door open.
It could be worse, I guess.
