an institution of higher larning like Stanford and a community college like Taco Tech in the sam conference

You want to talk community college, they let Arizona St remain in the Pac. You can throw Oregon St in their with your community college list.

Dennis Erickson & Mike Riley would probably hesitate in coaching a Comm. college....
WSU has had some challenges....

I was speaking in terms of academics. ASU, Zona, WSU are same tier schools as Texas Tech.

Different sources, I was using Forbes which ranks all Colleges and Universities together.
