kind of stuff happened all the time before they closed Commerce Street in the early 90's (after someone died). the biggest, annual, long-form bar fight on the planet, they used to say. one year there was an impromptu football game that lasted on Commerce Street for hours (after the DFW routinely hit the Sooner-Horn crowd with the customary 2 AM firehoses). However, instead of a football, they used empty Jack bottles as the pigskin.
