actually, as the game draws nearer it becomes: boise might win or whatever, but only because they didn't play four sec teams beforehand.

WTF Boise being favored in that game?
What is so hard to understand about it? Be specific. Nobody outside of SEC Land is the least bit surprised by that. And the smart folks IN SEC Land probably aren't either. Boise State would be favored by even more at a true neutral site.

The line isn’t based on who the bookies think is the better team, it’s where they think they can make their most money. If that line was bet down to 1.5, the bookies are probably happier than pigs in shit. If BSU beats Georgia, they will stand to make bunch of money.

You are correct, sir.

Still interesting to see that an awful lot of folks are more than willing to risk their hard-earned money on the Bulldogs against a team considered far superior.
6 points does not = far superior. Boise will beat Georgia.

It is undisputed that the dominant conference in college football is the SEC.

A mid-tier SEC team should be able to beat the best team from a minor conference.

Thus, my surprise at Boise being favored.
Kinda like Louisana Monroe vs. Alabama?

The 7th ranked team should be able to beat the 22nd ranked team.

A mid-tier SEC team should also be able to score more than 6 points against Central Florida in a bowl game. Your perception of "Should" and reality are two different things.

A "mid-tier" SEC team? No. UGA was definitely amongst the shit teams of the SEC last year, and I think they'll be in the same spot this year.

I like the NCS game matchup, though we'll see. If it turns out that way, 'Bama wins big. Why? 1. SEC owns it now, and 2. Stoops always fails.
You're a fucking moron. I already shoved my cock down your throat about this issue in another thread. Bob Stoops is coming into his 14th season as the head coach at Oklahoma; in thirteen seasons Oklahoma has finished at the same spot or above in nine of them, and in only two seasons could it be called a "disappointment".: One of those Oklahoma lost two first round draft picks before the completion of the first game and finished the season with two walk on Olinmen starting in a win against Stanford, the other he lost two all-americans before the first snap of the season as well as a starting QB.

He is such a failure he has as many national titles as any other head coach in Allbarn history. Good luck getting to the Weed Whacker Independence Bowl this season without a bought and paid for QB and half your board of trustees making plans for long term stays in orange jump suits.

i saw UGA lose to Colorado last year. they can lose to a legit top 15 type team (with a returning 4th year starter at QB), no question. home field is a factor in both...but, still.

A “shit” team and they are still ranked 22nd. Just goes to show how over-rated the SEC is.

well, 60 miles from campus is like Cal's deadly 3 time zone travel for an SEC team, OOC.

The pickem contests over the years should have told you that you shouldn't bet on football.

But I am picking Georgia in the pickem contest, regardless of the spread.
So is that a put up or shut up response? Or the typical lawyer deflect response?

Over the years, I have not played in the pick'em contest. As one who ran it for 5 years, I hated it when someone would play a couple weeks and then bail. I just don't have the dedication to play a full season. However, I'm about 70% on my picks against the line with my bookie. That's good enough for me.

So put up or shut up.

No, actually, they're not. Based on their preseason ranking, spread, returning starters, whatever you want to measure that game on, Georgia is not supposed to win. The only reason you think they are supposed to win is groupthink.

No need to have a stroke, Chief! I just stated the obvious. Other than the one NC, Stoops SUCKS at big games. Sorry. It's just that way. And you can say "well - you just SEC homer". Well - fact of the matter is - beat the fucking SEC. You fags always whine & cry about the SEC - so just fucking beat them!

Bob Stoops is 4-3 against the SEC you myopic hatrack!

Being 21-7 against top ten teams over his career is sucking? Who knew? If only he could be more like Gene Chizik and be 2-7 in those sort of games . . . then we would be big time.

Never understood the Stoops bashing. You're going to lose more big games than most when you play in them every year, and that argument is exaggerated anyway. I mean, is it better NOT to play in big games, that way you can't be "exposed?"

Spray,

If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times. There is only one rule here. And no, it's not have a take and don't suck. The cardinal rule is as follows:

Mmmmkkkayyyyy.

Stoops has finished at the same place or higher in nine of his twelve seasons: That's 75% of the time.

Stoops has a .806 winning percentage; that's good for the third best percentage in college football among active head coaches and by far and away the highest of any coach who has more than a decade of experience.

Stoops is 11-6 against top 5 ranked opponents; Stoops is 21-7 against top ten ranked opponents; Stoops is 41-17 against top 25 competition.

Stoops has 7 conference titles and more BCS conference titles than any other active head coach.

In what fucking realm of thought, other than in the world of toothless morons, could that even be considered in the realm of being a failure or "always failing"?

Oh and as far as this being "about Bob Stoops", last I checked you didn't dictate the criteria of conversation or bullet points concerning an argument (you'd be one of the least qualified on the board to do so at any rate) and based on the thread title that states "bowl projections" not "Bob Stoops Success", Chizik is every bit as relevant to the conversation as you nipping at Bob Stoops ankles. You want to flap your dick massagers about another teams coach don't be all ass hurt when other fans point out your coach is barely above .500 for his career, .529 (and don't blame it on being at Iowa State because it sure hasn't hurt Paul Rhoads too damn much and he hasn't had the benefit of the half of his career at a prominent program and a store bought Heisman Trophy); that Chizik is 1-3 against top 5 teams; Chizik is 2-7 against top ten ranked teams; and Chizik is 7-9 against top 25 ranked competition.
