leftist chants about dramatically changing the way we live based on experts evaluations of computer models that could happen to the earth in 80 years (global warming etc).....yet the experts got Irene wrong with a much smaller 24 hour window....

Not enough biblical level destruction for you?
It hit
exactly when and where they said it would... and they called it at least 5 days in advance, not 24 hours.

Are you naive or stupid? Days before it hit "weather experts" were claiming it could be the storm of the century, category 3, etc. etc . etc.....they DIDN'T KNOW.
That's my point Einstein.

So it lost intensity after it hit land, it well may not have. It's called preparing for the worst. As it was, 24 people died, millions lost power and were affected by flooding. Property damge in the billion$
I don't know how much more you expect out of weather forecasters than to be able to pinpoint exactly when and where a storm will hit. You want to know precisely what the wind speed and barometric pressure is going to be and God help them if they get it the least bit wrong, you'll run around calling them quacks.
Idiot.

They were right to prepare for the worst, due to not being able to determine with ANY certainty, the strength or intensity of that storm due to insufficient data. Yet, a bunch of scientists are able to tell us now what will happen in 80 years and we should all start changing our behavior....

You really think meterologists are the ones predicting climate change?
I'd say you need to change your behavior, but that's just because you're coming off like a fucking moron.

Apples and oranges... I'm not down with the man made global warming/climate change fruitcakes.
But as far as Irene was concerned, they nailed it. A little sensationalism and hysteria goes a long way towards saving lives. It could have been much worse

Also, enough of this nonsense about the Earth rotating the Sun.
Phooey...
All the science you need is in Scripture anyway. Science can go to hell.

No, they never have opined about the subject.
Maybe you (think) they study meteors?

I guess preparing for "the worst", or at least being prepared for "not the best", in the long term doesn't make sense, even though it does in the short term?
Not quite following the logic there.

And your aunt could have had balls.
This whole thing was pumped up because:
A. It was happening to the east coast and
B. Commander Odowngrade was looking to do battle with the elements to display "leadership" for his hordes of sphincter sucking sycophants.

For most of Vermont, it not only was the storm of the century, it was an all timer.
I understand your antipathy towards Obama, but there's no need to assign ulterior motives to the media. They would've covered it exactly the same no matter the current resident.

The weather was overhyped beause... that's how the media gets you to pay attention. If there was too much weather coverage, its probably becuase there was nothing else going on
and you watch too much TV.
Trying to make this about Obama shows how obsessive you are. Need to take the next exit and maybe follow along with America on the access road for a while.

Don't forget that Obama controls the media. His, after all, all powerful, omnipotent and stuff.

I can just picture Wags now...drunkenly knocking over his beer can...watching the pool of foam creeping towards his mouse and then excitedly leaping from his chair so fast, that he trips over his own feet and falls backwards on the floor...his wife calls out from the den, "Honey, is everything okay?"...
Comedy Gold.

btw, MSNBC had the most watchable and thorough coverage and here's a Trivia question for you asshats... no fair googling.
What's the difference between a hurricane, a typhoon, and a cyclone?
I've got 10 bucks says 9 of 10 of you don't know unless you google it.
The 1/10 of you most likely to know w/o searching would be Goobs... he'll be along at 7 am to confirm this, no doubt.

Hurricane - What you call a tropical low pressure system with sustained winds over 75 mph in the Atlantic and in the Pacific east of the International Date Line.
Typhoon - What you call a tropical low pressure system with sustained winds over 75 mph in teh Pacific west of the International Date Line
Cyclone - Same shit, only in the Indian Ocean
