Are we gonna hear four consecutive hours of live Led Zeppelin?

That's neither accurate or fair. Bri's played some pretty good shows and he mixes the music up.
I'll admit I catch his gig when he's hosting.

P.S. I am lying

as opposed to 4 hours of the most unlistenable crap ever that you would play?

I guess you missed Rumps abortion of a show last night. He could do worse than learn from Smackie or Bri as opposed to catering to your fucked up new age musical taste.

Hey, I heard bace had a show somewhere.

Sorry Wags, but as Coogs' official/unofficial segment producer in charge of "consultant to creative content production" (or "CCCP" for short), I gotta pimp my dawg at RADIO FREE RUMPLE.

Not by taking cheap shots at the establishment, you won't.

I'm in Rumps corner too, ingrate.

I'll be perfectly honest with you. I'm playing Angry Birds on my computer right now and my soundcard shits the bed if I try and listen to streaming radio and in-game music at the same time.

sorry

The CCCP reference flew over Kansas City as you looked up and marveled at the contrails from the aircraft flying at altitude.

I'll bet I could tell you to look at a dead bird, and you'd look up in the sky and ask, "Where?"

It's currently out of my control, Wags. The only thing Smackie and Bri have taught me is what I already knew. Shoutcast runs like shit when using Windows 7 or Vista. Several threads were created in Winamp forums asking developers for a fix to this problem and all they can do is shrug with their palms up like mvscal does when Dan Vogel walks in on him and his wife doing the deed.

My only option at this point is to purchase a Mac and then my show will sound like Smackie's...no skips, no F5, and real live segments without the server crashing.

It's frustrating right now because I spend about 10 hours a week preparing for my show. My week 3 segments were fucking awesome. Unfortunately, I could not successfully transmit these bad ass segments to my listeners last night.

I will have to purchase a Mac, but it'll have to wait 'til after my trip to Vegas in October. Shit if Vegas had odds on Shoutcast servers crashing within the hour, I'd put my mortgage on that bet.

Question Rumps... is Windows 7 better than Vista? I'm still running XP Pro and don't want to take the chance on this laptop.

You can run Windows XP or a Linux distribution in a virtual machine like Oracle's VirtualBox.

No need to join the fruit-themed lemmings.

Vista is like an autistic child in a mosh pit; its a fucking disaster. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit on both my laptops and really like it with the exception of this Shoutcast debacle.

In all honesty though, I wish I spent more time educating myself on Linux and Ubuntu. I'd use that OS over anything else if I had the patience to set it all up.

You should check out VirtualBox. Sandboxed OS' that you could fuck around with all day and learn without jeopardizing your main install.

Linux is actually pretty cool and I used it all the time on one of my boxes. I've forgotten how to use it with that power button on the 'puter confusing me.

I've messed with Vista before and she sucked hard! Try XP like Marty said on one of the laptops.

Plus there are bootable Knoppix free downloads that you can burn to CD's that might help your efforts.

when you get around to that, I'll be here to listen, good lord willing.

In the meantime, you could still learn a lot from how Smackie and Bri roll so check in instead of playing angry birds or whatever it is you do to fill the boring hours in betweenxt tit fucking Mr's.Rumps.

Did I say Bri? Fucker has been awol lately, but I understand being as how his JAFFL draft went. Dude is in plugging hole mode and wondering how it all went so wrong.

If you haven't used a Linux distro in the last 5 years...it's a completely different experience from the muddled, poorly documented days of early Linux desktops.

I switched over in 2005 and the fuck if I'd ever go back.

I wouldn't know, probably nothing is wrong with playing Angry Birds and no doubt it beats watching angry porn.

Last time I used Linux was in 2004. I actually ran Sun Solaris (Unix?) on another one but I don't remember much about it. XP Pro is about as far as I go and am scared of service pack updates or ever using IE as a web browser.

I've replaced the M$ version of Java Script with Sun's and it worked great. Now I keep getting these "chrome/...JS" issues. I can sit here for 10 minutes while the memory gets clobbered. I'm not talking about my memory getting clobbered as that is a done deal.

Hit a nerve there, didn't I, old timer? Don't get me wrong, like LZ as a band. I'm just better than them at this point in my life. You should try some new shit sometime, expand your fucking horizons, for once.

Yes, he apparently is better than the greatest rock band in history.

At what, I don't know.

I'm sure that in addition to jizz mopping, there has to be something he's better at. I guess you could say he's better at breathing than bonzo is these past 3 decades.

Windows 7 is far and away better than any previous Windows OS. It's a far and away better option than whatever the hell else you're doing. If you have any machine running xp, then holy fuck, nitwit, it's time to get a new goddamned computer. Run out to the UHaul and lift Jack's wallet and use his credit card to get a new one.

PRONTO.

Before I try this virtual box or pruchase some fruit, I'm gonna devote the next four nights at work to figuring out if shoutcast and Win7 can exist in harmony. Research awaits.
